WHY JUST AN HOUR ? THEY MUST NOT EXPECT TOO MANY THEIR ! I NO MY ALDERMAN WOOD NEVER DO THAT FOR WARD 3 ! HE WOULD NEED ALL DAY OR MAYBE A WEEK TO ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS !!!!!!
When will the traffic study support group meet again? Can we discuss bringing fireworks to Baker Lake for next year? Will the Mayor attend? Can a regular resident utilize city hall to organize a campaign group? If I am running for office in the same area as Perez/Maysak can I have meetings at the city building? Why can't I just go to the city meetings or call city hall to get the answers to my questions? How much do I have to pay to the campaign funds of these two, and do I at least get a chicken dinner?
H. Tom Ward 3 is also my ward but I have attended previous meetings conducted by the second ward aldermen. I found both to not only have interest in their own ward but interest in the welfare of the entire city. The meeting ran past 2:00 PM and Rodney and Sherry stayed until all bases were covered. They have created a win win situation with these meetings as I felt more knowledgeable about the city and I felt they also felt more knowledgeable. It is great communication at a relaxed informal setting and yes more should come.
This is one city meeting where you will not have to submit your 3x5 card before the meeting as it is pretty loosie goosie.
Anon 10:01 What are you trying to say? Why don't you start by explaining what you feel a city hall should be used for? My deductions are that from the attitude of your comments if you don't change you will not be recipient of a very large vote.
You give off the feeling of being way too negative.
10:46 Ya right your in the 3rd ward? Win, win? You have been reading too many self help books. Whats the difference between a grass roots meeting and a meeting smoking grass? Answer: The smoking grass meeting as you would say makes you loosie goosie and the grass roots meeting makes you sound like you been smoking grass. After 10:46s description of this loosie goosie grass roots meeting, most of us will stand in line for Mayor Harl's 3x5 card.
12:42 PM
I can hardly wait for the long list of 3 x 5 cards to be read. It kind of reminds of the Johnny Carson show when he acted as Carnac.
Anon 10:46 Thanking you for your explanation of the difference between a grass roots meeting and a meeting smoking grass. Possibly if you didn't understand the meeting smoking grass with such authority you would not be brain dead. I bet you would make a role model for the ad of the fried egg stating this is your brain.
After next years election Harl will have enough cards without any purpose that you should be able to get all you want without any reason to stand in line for them.
10:02 Pm I think you meant 12:42 PM who was into the grass definition.
I have attended several of the meetings hosted by Alds. Mayszak and Perez and it would help this city a great deal if the remaining aldermen would make themselves accessible to the public. This is truly a question and answer session and no cards required. In fact it becomes more like a round table discussion between the attendees and the aldermen. If anyone reading this is free at 1 PM Sunday, stop in and stay for 5 minutes or an hour and get to know those who represent not only their ward but many others also.
I have attended the meetings hosted by Rodney and Sherry. Both were good meetings and participants respected other participants. Comments were said and responses/suggestions were given. Seemed like a nice brain storming session. Concerns were addressed by the aldermen and I believe all guests were glad they came. Less informal environment created less confrontational actions and tones.
