"Its not about me", did Ald.Perez actually say that? Cost? Did cost matter to him when he pushed that sales tax increase? Door to door with overwhelming support! He wants total transparency, but throws Comcast under the bus. Meetings televised but only in a controlled internet fashion. "I want" to vote on it Monday, signaling to the Mayor that no other options should be discussed. If you really want the meetings to be viewed, you would vote for Comcast Cable.

Did I hear things correctly on this video? Did the mayor say that the topic of videoing the meetings has been under discussion for 3 years yet he'd still like more information and more time to discuss the issue? Please tell me I'm wrong!!!

I have Comcast and if I ever see an extra .35 charge on the bill then I would automatically deduct it from my payment since I don't agree with it. If money will be collected that way then I'd prefer that it be for the pool.

If I'm not able to get to the meeting in person because I have other things going on then having it broadcast won't do me a bit of good. At least with it on the internet I can go back and watch them when I have time too.

Does Alderman Waldorf act like that at all the meetings? Was he trying to intimidate Kristie or does he really not care about the issue?

I voted for change and transparency at the last election. I believe the mayor is failing at the promises he made. 3 years on this topic? and you want more time? Why? Please explain yourself. Looks like Rodney & Sherri want to put this on the agenda and everyone is still dragging their feet. "Presentation on this topic only an hour ago" is the reason you can't vote? Heck, I think I saw video last week where one of the alderman didn't even have a packet and was asked to vote on a new topic. Seems like things are not fair amongst all the alderman. Also, it seems to me that someone is trying to make alliances with the good old boys. Strategy? Little late in my opinion. Feel a little threatened? Feel like a bigger man bashing the 2 new alderman that don't agree with you? A man or woman is only as good as their word and as far as I am concerned, you have failed. Miserably! Remember, the blog was a STRONG reason for a change of leadership 3 years ago.

I don't think anybody intimidates Kristie. Especially people like, "Mr. Can't Stand On My Own 2 Feet."

I believe the presentation made by Comcast was also made several years ago. I seem to remember the same representative being there and the same .35 cent charge being mentioned. I guess we've been thinking about it for so long we forget the specifics and needed to be reminded. No matter what method you chose not everyone will welcome it or receive it. Common sense says go with the least costly and more wide spread means of communication. Just make a decision.

HARL NEVER CAME THROUGH ON ANY OF HIS CAMPAIGN PROMISES OTHER THAN TO THE UNION.

I appreciate all of your questions and will do my best to answer them for you: Yes, I did say "it wasn't about me."
My concerns are the other citizens of Peru, and abroad who have other televised networks such as Satellite; these other networks don't link into the cable channel. If you go back to the video you will hear me advise (only after the mayor and other council members voiced their interest with comcast) that perhaps we consider using both Televised, and Internet services. If the council chooses to go that route, and comcast subscribers are ok with it, then that would work for everyone.
However, This can not lay stagnant much longer, as we heard in the video from the mayor... it has been discussed over the past three years." The connecting point presentation was held two weeks ago with the council having full details, Comcast gave their presentation with full details.. so I was calling for a vote giving everyone five days to consider their vote.

Sales Tax Increase: Would you please explain how I "pushed" the "Sales Tax Increase?"
My pursuit of going door to door was to get feedback of how my constituents and citizens of Peru felt about the city voting to pass the tax increase.(not to push it) I supported the increase because the people wanted better roads, and they were favoring the increase to get them done; so, to clarify...My push was to hear what the citizens had to say about it.

Lastly- to your accusation that I wanted only a "Controlled Internet Fasion, and NO other options should be discussed" comment; Comcast was invited in by me, a good friend of mine is a salesman for comcast who was also at the meeting. If "I" only favored the Internet fasion "I" would have not invited Comcast in. In fact; if i was into playing political games? friends of mine who manage these type of sales, and own production companies would be my first choice in line to bid; Connecting Point was the first contact made to give us a proposal, some of those leads came from other broadcast, and internet companies stating- Connecting Point provides the cities internet and could handle what services we needed done.
If anyone happens to have questions or concerns please feel free to contact me anytime:-)

Thank you,

Did Alderman Waldorf just show up to that meeting? I thought this discussion has been brought up previously? He says, It seems to me we are discussing video recording for the internet and broadcasting on television" Well Yes Alderman Waldorf Thank you for waking up and joining their meeting! And Alderman Ferrari only whispers in Waldorfs ear on what to say with the only words he had was mimicing the words " yea, let her put it on". It's clear to me with the smart-alic comment by the Mayor, Waldorf, and Ferrari that it should be left up to a citizen to record and post is clearly a slap in the face. If that ever goes to a vote it is very clear to me, and should be to whoever views this video, that they will not support it.The Mayor mentioned that it has been brought up over the past three years then also mentioned he wants as many people to view this as possible? Than why hasn't the mayor researched these things he's asking about now? Has anyone also noticed the mayor told Alderman Perez to come up with survey questions, and to research it better? The mayor must reaally think he has a board full of puppets. I was happy to hear Alderman Perez tell the the mayor it was going to sit another year and no one does anything. Way to go Rod!
