Peru Public Works Working @ No Cost to Concert

The city covered these costs? Is that correct? Also, I don't understand how we can donate man hours and personnel to this concert when many times it is stated that we can't perform certain tasks because we're short of manpower.

What is the purpose of this statement? Wouldn't it be much better to back the statement up with the time cards which had to be punched in and out at the employees time clock, especially since some of this time is at a overtime rate.
The only thing I see here is a amt. of time x's the hourly rate who is paying for fringe benefits, or doesn't it make any difference because the taxpayer is paying for it all?
It must be nice to borrow someone elses' employees at a limited cost? Where can a business sign up for this gov't program? This administration is so limited in financial knowledge that it makes ones hind end as sore as the monkeys appears at the zoo.

PAID FOR BY THE TAX PAYERS OF PERU WITH OUT A CHOICE ! SOUNDS NORMAL !

Why does City letterhead have a CWA union label directly under the City contact onformation and what does it mean...besides the taxpayers pay $90.00 an hour for the Street Sweeper operator for a private event call out. And what is this 2 hour minimum US taxpayers are getting charged for each call out? Is this what Union Label symbol means?

Peru still has a street sweeper ?

Two things that you can be assure of in Peru politics is that they don't have any money or enough employees to do the work. The only rule of thumb to determine if this line of reasoning is to be enforced is if they, our city BOZOS are in favor or not in favor. Less than two years ago Peru gave Dalzell a very nice set of playground equipment from Roosevelt School because the city had no one to put it up but there are plenty of man hours available for concerts and endless, needless grass cutting this year. For the last two years many citizens have made several appeals to have a splash pad erected since it has become evident that a swimming pool is several years off at best but the Mayor tones this suggestion off and proceeds to furnish all with a endless fleet of fully loaded gas guzzlers.
The last time that anyone has made a attempt to reduce costs or improve productivity in Peru is when a citizen volunteered to reward a city employee for a cost saving idea with a substantial amount of money. How many times did he have ante up? I would have thought that the city officials used this as a positive motivational factor. Did they?

Sure Peru still has a street sweeper and at the amount of man hours it is being utilized Peru will have the same street sweeper for the next 100 years. The street sweeper is probably one of the reasons that Peru has had to rent another storage garage at $650.00/month besides the city building on Peoria Street.
What has happened to the publication to be made of city wages plus benefits that the Ottawa newspaper asked the Mayor for and the law requires?

Who imposed or approved the two hour minimum for all call outs? So if a barricade is needed and it takes 25 minutes to put in place it is an automatic 2 hours on call pay? Was this part of the union contract or a Harl side note?

Kristy - It is a "stamp tax." All government letter head has one of those. Yes... the "stamp tax" we faught against in 1776... not the goverment this time... but the Unions taxing the government with the people paying the bill.

Time for a "tax" rebellion in our district from Mr. Mautino all the way down to the township board!

What is the call out procedure for the employees of Peru? If it is a minimum of 2 hours and if it is a twenty minute job is the employee assigned another duty to perform for one hour forty minutes or is he allowed to leave? If he is allowed to leave and is injured within the two hours how is this handled? How does he punch-in and punch-out if he isn't physically on the job for the entire two hours?
How is overtime achieved and what is the premium time rate? Do you have to work forty hours before overtime pay is reached. Is overtime payed at time and a half and double time or is it paid at the normal pay scale plus a set scale and $2.50 /hour?
Why doesn't the work force work staggered days and shifts so there is very little overtime and most situations are covered during normal scheduled working hours?
What is the break even point where it is either better to hire additional employees than have the present work force work overtime and at what point is it better to farm the work out to a private source? These numbers should be at hand because Peru has a Budget Director, SPW, a Human Resource Manager and a Insurance Consultant. Is Dick Matuzzo still the insurance consultant and if not who is?

THAT'S HARL ---- "Mr. UNION". WHAT A JOKE. IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE. I WONDER IF HE HAS THE BIG 150 LOGO ON THE BACK OF HIS PAJAMAS?

Anonymous said...

That is a union symbol and is not on all goverment letterhead. Other towns dont have that. Only city of Peru since Harl got in and they switched to a union printer.

Anonymous said...

Who is the printer?

10:05 Thank you for your clarification. I didn't think it was on every government letterhead but wasn't positive. I just wish Peru could go about it's business and take care of our parks, streets, etc. without worrying about union this and union that.
