Perez and Radtke Expenses IML

Rodney is a great example of not wasting taxpayer dollars. He stayed at an inexpensive place the first night and the Hilton the second night, with no room upgrade. No food charged to the taxpayers either! The others could learn so much from him!! Way to go Rodney. Thank you!!!

Since Ald. Perez did stay over one night which I was not aware of, he may have very well attended a dinner at which you were

Anonymous said...

Mr Perez actually reported a summary of his experiences there and I have no problem with overnight stay at a convention like that. Hotel was reasonable for the area.

I do not take issue with reasonable per diems and dinners , as many contacts are made outside seminars. I wouod rather the city pay for the dinners than lobbuists and contractors. The practice of banning potential city contractors from paying for gifts, meals, or trips should be introduced as ordinance and take away the opportunity. It would be interesting to see the vote on that ordinance.

Why couldn't the other officials follow what Alderman Perez did? Two night maximum overnight stay. One of those nights should Not have included a night to attend the Test dinner. That is not on part of that conference.
I have no problem if Test bought their lunch and Chamlins bought their dinner( viseversa ) but for these officials to charge the city an additional night out is WRONG!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Does anyone really think that Chamlin and /or Test buy city politicians breakfast, lunch, dinner, baseball game tickets, or fishing trips to Canada without payback? Peru has lived on doing business in the grey matter of no competitive bidding for too many years in the fields of consulting engineering and water treat. If you had a business partner willing not to seek competitive bidding when you had over $850,000 last year or over $650,000 last year would you keep the parasites happy with a little chump change now and than. One of these firms has done business with Peru for over 60 years without competition and the other for over 25 years.
Now, after reading this, if you still believe that the incumbents of the last 50 years have done a good job by all means reelect them.

Way to go Rodney!! I saw a foia on the same blog a month ago where Peru township secretary spent $300 more on a 2 day meeting in rockford and didn't even stay in a hotel. It's time to end corruption in our community

Mayszak for 2nd ward alderman!

Mike Hart for Peru Mayor!

There is some good discussion going on under the Pulaski Road heading below regarding the bb gun club. Don't miss reading the minutes Lois has posted from the public property meeting. Very interesting

Maybe we should be like spring valley and not go any more since noone learns anything and the cost is too great!

Peru will always be known for its shady dealings and money hungry politicians

That is a legitimate concern and one of mine and I think this coming election will either prove or disprove that thought. Also the reason many of our children never give a second thought to ever moving back to their home town.

My 2013 prediction:Mayor Harl will win re-election and this is why, and how: Don Baker- had the best shot up until his true mentality became public during last weeks radio debate. Giordano-was placed by Baker to be an anchor to help pull votes from Harl. Giordano blew any chance he had after he announced his wanting to place Baker as his political side-kick in office.( hoping to gain Baker supporters ) "Backfired" Hart- If Hart had a bit more campaign $$ to run more radio, paper, and placed a minimum of 25 more signs it would have kept his name and interest on the forefront.
Hart seems to have a lot of dirty facts on Harl and never bothered letting it out to every taxpayer in Peru. That could have been done in a positive way while taking down Harl. Door to Door is the key BUT everything else mentioned is the door the key is placed in.
1st ward- oh well
2nd ward- Mike Radtke- Sherry Mayzack would have pulled it if she was more aggressive on the campaign trail. I saw Mike Radtke out more and more signs.
3rd ward- Bob Ankeiwitcz- Well known, and liked by many elderly, and talk of town is Sapienza is Harls yes man.
4th Ward- Steve Weberski- Lukosus is also known as Harls yes man and talk of town is Weberski and Harl parted ways. Steve Weberski has many signs, and has been seen through the neighborhood regularly. Loger- not aggressive enough especially in the advertisement department.
If the mayoral race was between Harl and Hart only, Hart would be the next mayor.
For ALL who wanted Harl out should have worked to persuade the others to step out.
Lesson for 2017 is to find a well known respected community individual then get behind them. That process must start after this election. I do believe that one individual is currently on the city council.

Mayszak has many more signs than Radtke, so you must be closing your eyes at times. If you are correct and Harl and Radtke win, we might just as well all move out of town because because no thinkers will be at city hall. You are very wrong on the 3rd. In fact you are the only one I have heard say that. Odds are definitely on Sapienza.

Thank you Mr. Prediction. I have been going door to door and have found very few people who don't like what I have to say or what I have to offer. I incurred some educational expenses and unfortunately my furnace went out so my "advertising department" may not be up to people's expectations, but that's fine since signs don't vote. The trick is getting people to the ballot box.

6:52 I'm not saying I'm happy with this election. Just my prediction. I'll be back on the 9th.

Anonymous said...

@Mr.Predict reading your prediction I was trying to read into it to see who you are actually supporting and throwing favor towards. It seemed to be all over the place which made it interesting because I tend to agree with you.
I am a Mike Hart , Mayszak, Loger, and Sapienza supporter.
I'm reconsidering Sapienza because I've heard the same thing. Sapienza and Scott Harl are as close as him and Lukosus. I would much rather see Ankiewitcz than a guaranteed Harl yes man in there. Who's the worse of two evils? I pray you are wrong! I can't see Scott Harl having more control. Harl+ Radtke+Lukosus+Sapienza= TROUBLE

Perhaps the same person that says that Mike Hart is a yes man for Harl is telling you the Sapienza is a yes man for Harl.
Mike Hart is definitely his own man. I have also met Mike Sapienza and talked with him about the city. If I were in the third ward, there would be no question in my mind that I would definitely vote for Mike Sapienza. I believe the Harl connection is a bit over blown. When lots of people found out that he would be running against Ankiewixa they were very happy to at last have an honest man in that position. Ald. Ankiewicz needs to be replaced just for the dishonest manner in which he has abused the political process. Don't ever forget the fireworks scenario of the past 6 months, wasting valuable time trying to get his own agenda passed in while important city business was not being done. It is time for new ideas and Mike Sapienza not a politician yet sees that things need to be corrected. I do believe the people of the third ward are not blind but open to accepting a new challenger who will be honest.

Anonymous said...

Lois. The last meeting I was at I noticed Mrs. Sapienza sitting with Mrs. Harl, I then noticed they left together. Is there true honesty in politics? Regardless how honest someone is now I've seen them change once in office. I guess no matter what happens the 3rd ward and city would be screwed if Harl gets back in. I agree with the above prediction.

Anonymous said...

@Lois, ask Mr. Sapienza if he will stay on top of the Witczack junkyard. It's clear the sausage puller worked that out with Frank Taylor to have the extension leak over 2days after redistricting. I would direct that question to Him myself but I never see him post on here. Is that because he's advised not to?

I don't believe that the Harls and Sapienzas are prior friends but perhaps Mrs Harl has decided to make friends with them. Sitting together at meetings has only been within the last month because at all times prior to that Mike sat alone. In fact I think from what I have been told that it was only when Mrs Sapienza started coming with her husband that Mrs Harl moved in.

Mrs Curious,

I talked to Mike S. early in the year and he said that he is more than willing to talk to anyone and that using a blog was something he was not into doing. You do know that he was a school teacher in the Hennepin area for many years and he is quite articulate. His phone number is 815-223-0913 (from my phone book). He did say that is the way he would like to communicate with any one who has a question for him. Please let us know if you make contact. I understand your concern on that property and I will also keep it in mind depending upon whom the people of Peru decide to vote into office.

Mr. Prediction. Remember how many signs Vickrey had? How'd that work for him?

Anonymous said...

9:51 I never said signs win. Advertisement is the Key but door to door, debates, and everything else is the DOOR that Key needs.

That does not coincide with your prediction as Mike Hart is the only one who actually went door to door. Harl had someone going around with his door hanger and that of the Peru Democrats. Mayor is not shy about is connection to the old guard at the twp, is he?

Anonymous said...

Lois. You must understand each race is going to be different. The advantage Harl has over Hart is: Advertisement, Name Recognition( regardless of negatives in the Name Harl ) most importantly in a race such as this the incumbent usually wins. As the other candidates pull votes from the 2nd place opponent which in this race will be Hart. I hope I'm wrong and someone other than Harl wins. I'm just predicting.

After administering this blog for 3 years and showing the people of Peru, many times in black and white, sometimes with videos we took so people would not only see but would hear what was going on, if they choose to remain with the status quo, I will know that this was wasted time, that choices will still be made upon union affiliation, party affiliation or buddy affiliation, it will take several more generations to get "smart". That is just the way it is and Peru considering its status now does not have a lot of time to waste because one of the other Illinois Valley towns will pick up the ball and run and some are quietly doing that already.

Anonymous said...

Lois. It's going to take more than three years of your blog for others to really se the light!

Anonymous said...

Lois, this blog and its intentions are great. The problem you run into is that although it's fine for people to ask questions to help expand the blog, there are too many people that try to give answers that are totally wrong and the answer that was given is just one that coordinates with the answerer's current conspiracy theory.

I know a lot of people that just laugh about this blog due to those reasons even though I know that you never intended for this to turn into mainly hearsay and gossip for the comments.

I think that if you keep up your hard work and make people back up when they state something as fact only then will this blog make a difference.

Let's develop a plan and come together as a community and get rid of Harl. I encourage all people that heard the WLPO debate that were voting for Baker to vote for Hart. As much as I hate to say this since I was going to vote for Baker, I can not allow myself to vote for someone that sounded disorganized and out of tune. I want my children to live in a community that offers more opportunity than I had and one which they can be proud of. For those voters that are in my shoes that were going to vote for Baker, lets vote for one man. This will give us a better chance to get rid of Harl, which IS the goal. Lois maybe you could start a heading for your bloggers for so that we can come together as a community and pull our vote for one man. You would have to screen comments that did not allow a pro-Hart, pro-Harl, or pro-Giordano and allow us to develop a plan to vote for one candidate in order for us to achieve our goal. Operation Get Harl Out Of Office!!!

11:13. To all those people that you say laugh at this blog site, should be overwhelmed by alot of the truth. Sad to say, but true! Hopefully they are really laughing because they become informed by this blog site on what is going on in the city of Peru. Vote for Mr. Hart for Peru's next Mayor.

Still trying to figur out why Alderman P stayed at a motel in Franklin Park (O'Hare Airport) for a conference that was in Downtown? Not very practicle. Might as well stayed in Peru.

Anonymous said...

Maybe stayed in Franklin park to save money. Franklin Park is just a hop, skip, and a jump to the convention. Don't forget rush hour traffic on Friday. All of the attendees if they cared about spending taxpayers money would have stayed in Franklin Park or Schaumburg! They all could have taken the train from the Ohare area hotels to city and not have had VALET SERVICES TOO!

Anonymous said...

The expense report is similiar to the others reported. Whats the big deal? He attended the free dinner. I would'nt worry about the free dinners, hotel reservations. I am more concerned about the representation.

Anonymous said...

Downtown is usually a 45 min to an hour drive from O'Hare.
Why not just suck it up and stay at home in Peru - 1.5 hour drive to the Hilton. No need to spend the night. That applies to all of them - not just Ald. P.

Anonymous said...

What would it cost the city to have one of the local transportation services take the representatives to the IML Convention?
Another possibility would be to have the Peru bus and its already hired driver take the convention attendees to and from daily. A per diem of $25 per day for lunch and a soda or two would amount to a significant savings. This would also enable a exchange of ideas among attendees while in travel.
Does the bus have a capacity of 12? Big time savings as the city would not pay any mileage or hotel bills. This is a win win idea for all!

Anonymous said...

Remember that 99% of the residents wanted that tax increase, Rod!

Anonymous said...

I see Radtke also used valet parking and stayed Saturday night when the conference was over Saturday afternoon. What a shameful waste of taxpayer money!

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:33 What a cost saving idea. This would also allow those attending a opportunity to eat supper at home with the family and get a good night sleep rather than strange hotel bed.

Anonymous said...

The only things not on those invoices are the red carpet roll out charge for those who are to elite to park and walk to the front door of the hotel. Did Lukosus and Radtke really have to take advantage of our tax dollars by staying the additional night to party, Valet Service, and room upgrades??
Alderman Perez sure put this into perspective for us. Why didn't they all stay off-site that first night like Rod did. I respect Perez for that!
Out with the high rollers:
Harl
Ankeiwitcz
Radtke
Lukosus all have to go!!!!

Anonymous said...

Question!!! Just browsed through these invoices. How did Rodney Perez get charged $216.00 as a room rate at the same hotel as others who paid $256.00 per night?
What was the difference? Why did the others need a more expensive room???????!??!
