Why is this blog being used as a political arm to solicit funds for the up coming mayoral /alderman election ?

@7:09. Finally straightening up some department heads, and get the city back on track. Should have been done eons ago.

Neighbors be damned ! It's who you are that's important to Harl. Now he wants a mulligan on his first term and be re-elected to office. Throw the rascals out. Thank god for Rodney and Sherry. Te other alderman don't care about what's right either.

What I can 't understand is why, when certain individuals ask a legitimate question or are simply looking for an explanation, they are treated with total disrespect by members of this current administration. This is not the kind of leadership I voted for in the past and will definitely not vote for in April. I am embarrassed at the obvious display of arrogance that is repeatedly displayed by certain officials.
We are all equal and are all entitled to fair and honest answers without the sarcasm.

Looks like Harl threw Rod and Sherry under the bus again. I hope people realize this come April. Things are as bad as the previous administration, maybe worse. Get rid of this arrogant _______ .

Anon 1:16 Alderman Mayszak is not hiding behind a sign, traditionally it has been accepted to grant a lady upon election the opportunity to choose either title Alderwoman or Alderman. As for your last question I will not honor it with a answer and will advise Sherry to treat it the same.
I also make a appeal to all fellow bloggers to not respond to this comment and to Lois to remove the comment along with mine as soon as possible and censure any similar comments made in the future in reference to anyone. This issue should not be revisited and should be finalized.
Alderman Mayszak I apologize to you for whoever has submitted such a untruthful, viscious comment.
Sherry I thank you for your outstanding representation of the citizens of Peru and am looking forward to many more years of your tenure.

DID EVERYONE SEE THE NEWS TRIB ARTICLE"Peru electric rate has driven Unytite to move out of Peru to La Salle"

Well , Hurrah for Mr. Scott Harl. Once again he has punished Peru with higher taxes and a loss of jobs, as well as a LARGE LOSS of tax revenue.
I sure hope all of you folks that voted for Harl 4 yrs ago will bear the responsibility for this loss of jobs and revenue.

I would also hope you can see your mistake in time to vote for DON Baker , who brought the Unytite company to Peru with the jobs in the first place.

Maybe we can get Don in office to straighten out the total mess our city is in and maybe we can reverse the Unytite decision.

BUT THAT IS IF WE ARE NOT TO LATE AT PRESENT.

Thanks to Harl for another screwed up decision. I can not stomach these decisions for another 4 yrs. He must GO !

1:16 it's obvious you're one of the elite arrogant one's that are posted all over this blog.
The proper definition for Mrs. Mayszak is " Alderman "
Not "Alderwoman" so quit being a tard because you already knew that.

Hey!Hey! Hey! HARL!!!! Another BUSINESS chased out of Peru, and it was NOT even UNION. good job!!!!!

I just got home from work and I didn't see what1:16 wrote and apparently it was removed by Lois (and apparently it wasn't very nice!).

Thank you Art for your nice comments. Art is correct about the title. I chose "alderman" because I wanted to blend in with the other aldermen. Atty Schweickert explained it at a council meeting that it is common practice for women to use "alderman". It's much like referring to a woman who acts as "actor" instead of "actress". Either is acceptable.

Plus it was cumbersome for Clerk Bartley to say when I first got on the council when he would do a roll call vote and begin with "Alderman Potthoff, etc." and then when he got to me he would say "Alderwoman Mayszak". It makes the roll call vote much more efficient.

Not only was it the bragging about how great business is doing in Peru but it was also when Hylla was asked about some coming expenditures, large expenditures and he said we could just write a check for them, no problem. Do the people in the city government really believe that we are a much of uneducated yokels or what?
Perhaps you and I know a lot more than they think, do you think so?

Hylla said they could write a check for some large coming expenditures, no problem. Hylla knows that there is no problem in writing the check what he didn't say whether the check would be good or bounce all the way back. Also he did not say where the money was coming from Peru is very good at taking the money form the elecric fund and inserting it into the general fund to take out and place into another fund. This shell game of manipulating money is very good for covering city payroll. The city had best use the Unytite job loss on account of Perus electric rates as a good warning and let the electric dept. accumulate a reseve of funds if it is not already too late. Yes Lois, I think we all know alot more than they give us credit for and I think they are jealous of it. The IT being that the citizen of Peru can balance a checkbook.
