An interesting concept offered by the Pantagraph as a public service.

Last week two city officials went to Washington D.C.Were they accompanied by anyone else or was this a business trip? What was the reason they went and what vouchers have been turned into the city, for how much and itemized.
If the city paid for the trip when will the report from this trip be presented and where? Peru, Illinois is here and all business should have been taken care of here in Peru, Illinois before going all over the USA. Is this trip going to be accounted for or is it another Illinois Municipal League where everybody goes, everybody has a good time and no report has ever come back year after year?

No book, odds are way too high that no report will come back to post line.

I can never remember in the history of Peru that it is highly likely that all four elected aldermen on April 19, 2013 will be serving their first four year term. This is truly amazing.

Long overdue and a great feeling that the people of Peru are willing to become a part of the governing and not just onlookers. :)
Can you just imagine how vibrant and alive our city could become with a lot of positive energy working for the people?

This isn't the place for this comment, but did that place ever get cleaned up in the second ward?, or is Mr. Taylor still letting him get by with all that trash around the building? I think we need a new Person to do the job, that he can't get done. Put someone in like Boro, whos not afraid to see that things get done.

Anon 10:58 These are very good question especially since both candidatews are up for election and a very good chance of possible defeat which both must be well aware of by now.
Whatever they understood will be left behind and never of use to the city if defeated. The only people who should now be able to spend money as they just did are those who are assurred at least two more years of city servitude.
A good topic for this blog would be "Why upon being elected do city officials of Peru believe this town drips with gold and they have a obligation to spend (waste) it". As previously mentioned we are in need of these new interested faces.

Does Peru have a active budget director or is he just a glorified bookkeeper? Question is is he catching on after everyone slips one in on him or is everyone catching on after he slips one in on them?

Just drove past there a few days and ago and it is in the same deplorable condition. Did notice one thing and that is a Bob Ankiewicz political sign in the yard. Remember that Frank Taylor our city zoning inspector gave the owner until after the election to start cleanup. And that brings up the topic of having Frank continue in the present position so he can collect another pension. Remember he was appointed by Don Baker and allowed to continue by Scott Harl. The guy who knew what he was doing, got fired. Either one of the 2 above mentioned candidates will keep him on so he can collect the IMRF IMO

Anon 2:50 Sounds like you have bought a new broom and going for a complete clean sweep.
When Mike Hart declares what his intentions are people will have a better idea of how they are going to vote.
Knowing Peru politics Frank will get a retirement no matter who becomes the next Mayor.

News trib coverage of politics is weak..very little coverage for hart and new canadiates in several races...I guess IV doesn't like change as much as we hoped

Coverage for Hart and new candidates would take time and money both of which the News Trib does not spend to what should be.

Very hard to get political coverage in the N.T. unless it is a paid advertisement.

I've heard several people say Vickrey and Biederstedt have major control of what political info flows into paper and what spin is put on it..such a disappointment canadiates like Hart have to face an uphill battle against the machine..I still believe hart and new canadiates for alderman and township have a chance to secure the win.

Call the EPA on the property. And don't call the local office. Drainage of the chemicals on that property should be looked at carefully. Right into the sewer system??
