Lisa Madigan's office is a joke and we should all wonder why her office refuses to address ANY issue involving Peru from basic "sunshine" to environmental/asbestos to consumer fraud.

Kristy maybe it's just you her office doesn't address?

Have either of you thought there has been no violation of any laws?
Maybe you should consider their departments understand the law and have determined there are no violations.
Just a thought versus your possible misinterpretation of the law that they are in charge of enforcing!
What do you think?

Violations were verified by the A. G. and warnings were given.

Who are the citizens suppose to rely on for "interpretation" of the law or for guidance on possible concerns in their communities? Why blow smoke on a website about the services your office provides to Illinois citizens if they are only to fill the web page?

Take the Westclox building as a very brief example.

01/21/09 I contact Madigan's office about environmental concerns and how the City is addressing those issues (same time King's Inn is being addressed)

02/06/09 Madigan's office responds that the issue was sent to the EPA (as in the past w/violations) and the other issues sent to different bureaus in her department

02/10/09 I contact Madigan's office to confirm the issues were indeed sent to the EPA and other bureaus.

02/13/09 Madigan's office confirms the issues were sent to IEPA and another bureau in her office

12/31/11 fire at Westclox. High School students are dismissed during the following week due the the smoke and air particles

2012 supposingly NOW the IEPA is involved because of the fire.

Now a few points. Don Baker with assistance from Attorney Doug Schweickert owned the building and I assume aware of the environmental issues (past violations). Mayor Harl has allowed the debri field to exist and the residents WILL be on the line for clean-up once/if the owners file bankruptcy no different the the hotels.

Who is/was protecting YOU and YOUR FAMILIES? Madigan's office? The IEPA? Mayor Don Baker? Mayor Scot Harl?

What is your answer? What did you say? Did you say something? A little louder please. I can't hear you!
Kristy, a question for you. Are you letting the City Attorney off the hook on this one?

That smoke stuff traveled through LaSalle and Oglesby lots of people not just in Peru felt the fire. And all those kids.

AG office is a joke, foia hotline works sometimes but they only handle foia and Oma problems. Westclox is a mess and Taylor can't find his hands from his ars

I agree with you whole heartedly about the AG office inner workings. What you need to know is that there are other avenues to take and people who are going to assist.
I look forward to letting you know just how that will happen after this election and want you to know that your tireless efforts are appreciated and admired by me, and others outside this area.
I am certain it gets most discouraging. But that is why there is courage in the middle of the word.

Smoke and mirrors; the "Great Oz" was needed a long time ago and the insinuating "change" will occur in the "Emerald City" after the election is providing false hope to those who fight every day for our community and for transparency.

You may very well be right. Your fight is admired either way. The only power comes from uniting.
