Lois, are there health issues in your household to show concern of public water consumption?
Are the levels of arsenic high in Peru water? Are they above clean drinking water standards?

What type of fluoride do they use?
I did not post this just about Peru. If 90% of the municipal water supplies are affected, it could include many cities.
We could always ask our aldermen.
Lois maybe you should find a hobby to do in your retirement. I mean other than complaining how bad the city is, the reason I say this because I never heard a complant from you or saw you at any council meetings, not until you helped spread lies and get this guy you are complaining about now elected and now he's not bowing to your every wish, just remember you were a big part of getting this guy elected. Why don't you throw your hat in the ring and run for an office then maybe you will find out how tuff of a job it really is, think of it as a hobby, it probably better than just complaining and not doing anything else to help solve the problems we have in Peru.

You make no sense 9:27. I commend anyone who is retired to care about the community in which they supported for so many years through their taxdollars, etc.. I do believe that Lois in a few of her post did say that she had supported our current mayor in his first election, however, our current mayor didn't fulfill his promises in which he campaigned upon. TRUE? The ones in the political arena in peru dislike that the public is aware and becoming more aware of the issues in peru. Your blog makes me sense that you are in that political arena. So, I feel a little sorry for you!!!! Facts are facts! Truth is the truth!
The last six words in your blog 9:27 are interesting. What are you doing to help solve the problems? That you admitted peru has. Maybe you have some voting power on the city council? I can give Lois an A++ for trying. Lois, hope you have been and are enjoying your retirement.
Maybe Lois due to her retirement has been able to become more involved in her community in a political manner. It's quit obvious that older generations of people are more involved on a larger scope because they are retired. When one has a family, job,etc.. time is of the essence and attending council meetings tends to take a backseat 9:27. So, I commend any persons who gets involved with their cities politics when timing allows. These are the people who are concerned about the future of their children, grandchildren and their community as a whole. What have you done for your community lately 9:27?

Lois or anyone else by being proactive rather than reactive and by providing constructive criticism is helping to limit and solve the problems we have in Peru.
This is better than those such as yourself who provide only individual insults, focus solely on reactions and preach stictly what benefits you as a individual the most.
Recently 9:27 a decision was made by a group of elected officials of Peru to protect the interests of a private corporation rather than the citizens who elected them. This decision could have and most likely cost the taxpayers over $800K dollars. What is your personal opinion of this decision? Thankfully Lois and many others stated their personal ideas on this issue and expressed a thought that each individual should contact their alderman on their thoughts about a super majority vs. a open competitive bid.

I would appreciate it Anon 9:27 if you would consider the fact that a individual who you are defending as having such a "tuff" job ran with a platform in which the second item he listed in his campaign was "Address the practice of "NO BID CONTRACTS".
Also Scott as Mayor of Peru stated I promise to: "Encourage citizen involvement in the political process. I will listen to the voice of the people". Do you believe that the same person would enforce a 3 x 5 card listing the topic which the person wishes to speak upon and reduce the expression to 3 minutes without the ability to question anyone of the administration or council. The Mayor more than once has stated that this is only public comment and not a question and answer session. Recently when asked a question by a member of the pool committee he answered with "PROCEED". Anon 9:27 please reevaluate as to who is making this job appear so "TUFF".

Most of you missed my whole point,which is we don't know all the reasons our elected officials do or don't do things because we dont have all the facts that they have when making those tough desisions, that we all elected them to do. Most of the officals have full time jobs they have seemed to find times in their busy lives to be a city offical,I think it takes a good person to take on that responibity, i just don't think it's fair to call them out for every little thing they do, if you do you should just do it yourself, you can't micro manage 9:27

You seem to have overlooked the FACT that they are getting paid with taxpayer dollars and that the decisions they make are paid for with taxpayer dollars. Unless their decision are required by law not to be made public, there is no reason they should not explain how they spend our money. The facts should be made public even if it hurts them.
No elected official should ever be given free reign to do what they want because they were elected. If that is the case maybe it is time to publicly remove them for malfeasance in office.

What decisions under this administation have been of such classification that the general public could not be informed. Most problems have been created by this administrations or councils policy making, poor documentation and lack of defined occupational job descriptions.
In the next elections it would be a pleasure to have a group of candidates that have the best interests of the city as their goal rather than candidates who are involved because of a need of money, week-end vacations on a expense account or some other form of self attainment.

And 6:32 p.m. I will be watching the "weekend vacations on an expense account" charges to the taxpayers as the council goes to the IML in Chicago in 2 weeks.

The best thing they learned was that it is hard to sue a municipality. When Harl learned that he realized he could use the city as his personal playground!
