What are you referring to with this photo Lois?

It looks like a drain, is there more to this caption?

Just wondering who is the fire marshal for the peru area?

The person who sent this to me was trying to say that we have areas of Peru that are down right dirty and neglected and that this is one of them.
And because it is in a rather ignored part of Peru, most don't see it everyday except for the people who happen to live near it who are used to it and maybe don't expect anything better.

Sorry Lois been busy today looking for a job today and didn't have time to write an explanation to the picture.

What needs to addressed in this picture is the drain (white PVC pipe) in the left and the cesspool. This is sewage seeping from the pipe into the ditch. I actually walked the ditch this morning and found it fascinating! Now grant it, it has been some time since I have worked in the laboratory, but you never forget the smell of wastewater and sludge.

I collected a sample to deliver to Mr. Sylvester at the attorney general's office since he neglected to properly forward this issue to the EPA in 2009. This doesn't even start to address the sewage IN the building!

Sorry Kristy every once in awhile I take a few hours for me and today was the day but if prices keep rising and income decreasing we will all be looking for a job. I already have a job and I don't mean the blog.

For those of you who don't recall:

Mr. Sylvester was the assistant attorney general from Madigan's office working with Doug Schweickert on the asbestos issue at Kings Inn when the State was going to file charges. What ever happen to that situation? Seems maybe her office has a problem with actually following through on environmental concerns with asbestos-that or someone with connections in our district/Peru interferes with environmental progress. Seems Lake DePue has had problems for a long time too...
