On the city worker, first I would call my alderman to see what he says and ask for a call back and if it doesn't accomplish anything call the chief directly. I have done that.
The interstate bugs me to and it is all about money. If they don't have enough for the present force to take care of in town, don't hire anymore. But I do know that most of the cities near to us have patrols out there along with Peru.

As for local police departments patrolling Interstate 80 its all about the drug money which the departments get to keep to spend on themselves. Drug money confiscated by a police department is earmarked for that police department and no other branch of city government touches it. If this law was to change you would not find any city police cars outside of city limits.

H.T. please use word check. I am pleased that our local police departments patrol interstate 80. Its in the best interest of everyone to fight crime before it comes in to the city. Walking a beat was gone with bellbottoms and disco. If Lois was a crime prevention specialist she would be on the department as such. H.T, would you rather the police stop the flow of heroin or spend the time telling your neighbor about grass clippings in the street. I got a better idea, why don't you put down your PBR and ask the neighbor to put the grass clippings where they belong. After the 87 year old neighbor kicks your hind end around the block, call your local police for help with your grass clipping problem.
