Physical violence against those in authority is wrong. I hope the police department is able to track down the criminal that did these acts and publicly announce who it was.

There was no physical violence involved. It was against personel property. If there was physical violence such as a fist fight they would know who did it.

I think it ahould be easy to figure out who did this.

The two coaches that were not rehired should have taken the high road from the beginning and had a pep talk with athletes. Explaining to them that life goes on and it is what it is. I don't know what conversations were had but I can only assume that the coaches displayed negativity to athletes which possibly could have added fuel to the fire. It's our job as parents, teachers, coaches, etc... to look at the positive side of issues so issues don't become escalated that may turn into violence . Very upsetting. I do hope the police finds the perpetrators.

IF this vandalism was carried out by athletes then evidently they weren't taught anything other than winning the game or event.

To the comment at 5:02 may 22. Are you actually hearing what you are saying? "It's our job to look at the POSITIVE." Look at that blog you are commenting on. Positive? I think not! I would be embarrassed to introduce my children too half the commenters on this blog spot. A bunch of people commenting on issues that you may not even know about! Dont try and back track because a lot of what I read starts with "I Assume." I was told many times by successful people, not too assume anything because it makes an ass out of you and me! Think before you speek!

Your comment is very interesting and while you may not like what you see is being written, I believe that most comments do come from our local Peru residents and much is written from total frustration because in this town so much is kept secret. Even those who try to learn about the aspects of how this city managed have a difficult time getting the real facts. Most of the time at city council meetings, the aldermen talk over your head and are not interested in informing you of how and what they are discussing.
Somehow there has to be a meeting point where we as residents of Peru can learn more about how this city functions. In other words take some time to share with those who are interested what the city is governed.

In some ways this blog has become a lesson in civics 101 which I am not sure they teach in schools any longer. I don't know how old your children are but if they are interested in a particular subject, I don't see it as a bad thing to allow them to read this blog and with your assistance they may learn how a city is run and maybe learn that sometimes, it is not fair. On occasion young people have come to council meetings and they are welcomed by the Mayor.

9:21 Hopefully those successful people know how to spell speak.

I respect the earlier comment in regards to this event not being considered physical because a person was not hurt. i still believe the act is violent and done in anger.

These acts show the real class of the LP community. Real info for the new AD.

Too 9:21 excuse me for mispelling the word "speak." Pretty Petty though! And Lois, I understand that some people are not happy with Peru's city government. I myself am not happy with every decision made. But I dont think that we need to get off track hear. Why would you bring Lp's teachers into this? This spot is called change for peru. Not changes at Lp high school. I don't agree with the release of the two coaches as I thought they did a fantastic job. Also, I know that I could do the job that they did. It's a lot of time and effort. So what would I be teaching my children if I sat hear and talked poorly about then. Sorry Lois but that all this spot is. A place for about 25-30 people to Bitch about everything. Very seldom do I read a positive comment on here.

It was a request and not something I had any thought of adding imput to. Somewhere along the way, I thought I had made that comment.

Why is it that Board's can go into private session and be anonymous to the public but some people continue to bash the anon blogger? We have opinions and rights to free speech even though we know in the real world that there are serious ramifications for speaking our opinions.

The public doesn't know what was discussed in closed session! However how many of L-P's board members had children in sports in the last 5 years? I can tell you with certainty that there have been a few. And these board members/parents made their decisions! L-P has a fantastic board who are well educated. In any job, an employee position can be terminated.

Anon 9:21PM-7:38AM How old are your children? Personally I see no harm in introducing my children to all of the comments on this blog being one is forty plus and the other is in the upper thirty's.
Freedom of speech is a right which we as citizens of the United States enjoy and the ability to censure your children is a obligation and privilege you maintain as a parent. To censure everything because of your personal feelings infringes on my freedom of speech. Most people by commenting are showing evidence that they have a interest in the subject to know something about it.
I find very few comments with "I assume", Maybe with you it would be best to start with "If you a don't like a my a bananas don't a shake a my a tree". Sadly 90% of the news is negative and therefore the majority of the comments start with a answer to a negative topic but happily end with a positive conclusion. Have a nice day and hoping you and your children can enjoy the blog more often in the future.
