Concert For a Cause Will Go On Without Written FAA Approval

It appears that those elected officials who wish to have this concert take place are willing to do so without written FAA approval. Also another concert is being planned to take place at the airport for later this summer. I believe all of the above hinge on the possibility that Ms Noonan will not be give approval either by Bureau County or the village of Dalzell to have them on her newly purchased property in that location.

For some reason I don't believe this is the end of the story.

Financially the city of Peru gains nothing financially at all All revenue generated at the airport must go to the airport per FAA regulations.

I agree with you Lois , but we both know how things work in the city of peru ! if the airport gets .50 per ticket sold they will be lucky ! ae for the city of peru good luck ! the only winner of these concerts is noonan . we've all learned that in the past. at least the city of Dalzell didn't fall for her B.S. .

Why is the FAA taking a hands off approach?
Why is the city possibly endangering continued federal grants to this airport?

As there is a election in the near future would it be possible to identify the city officials who option to challenge the FAA if written approval is not granted?

Who are the city officials who would risk possibly misusing their elected office to stage a concert at the airport without any gain and a financial loss plus huge expenses and risk of liabilities to the city?

How is Ms. Noonan going to receive a profit if all proceeds created at the airport have to stay at the airport?

Why hasn't the city attorney been asked for his legal opinion on having the concert at the airport?

What is the city attorneys legal advice on having the concert at the airport?

Who is Ms. Noonans attorney and what is his legal advice on this issue?

What is the amount of the bond which Ms. Noonan has to submit to the city to stage the concert at the airport?

Until this concert is finished you cannot be positive that the FAA is taking a hands off approach. It is becoming evident that the city officials are not business orientated enough to realize that they are endangering continued federal grants to the airport. All the more reason to hire a city manager.

Lois, I applaud you for constantly keeping us informed of these issues.

Don't lose faith in our citizens or the Federal government . The government takes awhile to process all the info they recieve . The best thing to do is stay vocal on here and at council meetings . THEY are reading this blog !

In agreement. Lois does a great job. LOIS FOR MAYOR!

Value of rented farm land $8,000/ acre rented at $200/acre /year=2.5% Kid Rock Concert ticket $58.00 and cities share for rent $.50=.00862%
minus preparation costs and loss of rent for how many years?
Are these the type of financiers that you want to reelect to handle city finances?
Would you prefer to do business with them or have them represent you in business dealings?
The only person Mayor Harl has changed from the last administration is the person who has out manipulated the concerts promoter and will continue to keep her out of Dalzell. His enforcement of the law to not make a decision legally until two days before the concert was a lesson to the promoter not to start something in Dalzell and than come to ask for a OK. A person representing the populace has to do what is best for the people and what they want. Above all the person must be capable of saying NO.

I had to read your comment several times and you are right about who the one employee that was let go. Do you think he is having the last laugh?

Lois, I had to read that comment more than once also, but 7:41 is right on. He was a very intelligent man when he worked for Peru, and continues to show his intelligence in Dalzell.

It's not about the city, it's about Mayor 150 getting special treatment when he picks up his pizza.

Speaking of how incompetent our building inspector is ... how come noone is held responsible for the untrimmed trees overhanging the sidewalk at the lot at 6th and Buffalo?
Oh wait, that's a city lot.

I should let Kristy answer for herself but I would just like to tell you that you are wrong about her vote.

A lot of us were fooled by the line of crap. NOT NEXT TIME!!!

Please provide whatever factual information you have obtained that indicates I supported Harl.

Regardless of your baseless assumption; many voters yearned for change and a different direction in how government was operated (no different than the federal level) and were fooled by the rhetoric. But please DO NOT criticize those who participated in our democracy and exercised their right to vote and allowed their voices to be heard at the ballot box (whether the right or wrong individual won is a debatable issue). Those individuals should be applauded and encouraged to continue partaking in our government by exercising the right to vote-that is where the real change occurs.

God bless America and your right to vote!

I voted for Harl because I wanted change ... and now we need more change. I take that back, we never got any change! We need a mayor and council that will do what we taxpayers or the majority of us decide we want!

HAS ANYONE REQUESTED THE CITY ATTORNEY GIVE COUNSEL ON WHAT IS THE PROPER AND "LEGAL" WAY TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION?????? I BELIEVE IT WOULD BE HIS RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THE CITY IS NOT BEING PUT INTO ANY JEOPARDY BY ELECTED OFFICIALS.

Lois,
Is it true that Noonan has local sponsors for this event? Who are those sponsors? Why did she take on sponsors this time? Did she do that in the past too?

Peru Town Forum said...

I must say that our city atty seldom if ever offers opinions on matters unless asked to do so. I have seen other city attorneys be more interactive with their councils and therefore things get solved quicker.

As to sponsors, I believe Ms Noonan has had sponsors before. Also I don't believe they are businesses we would be familiar with.
