Why would a PRIVATE school get benefitted fr some concert profits? I thought it was "charity.". Was it chosen to keep the tuition lower? Most families have monies if sending their children to a private school. It makes sense that public school are more so in need for help. Teacher spend alot of their own money for supplies. Doesn't trinity academy have a raffle fundraiser every year? Or, is it another private small school?

I WANT TO KNOW IF THE FAA HAS APROVED IT ,OR IS THE CITY COUNCIL AND MAYOR GOING TO SWEEP THIS UNDER THE RUG JUST LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO ? ? ? WAIT TILL ITS TOO LATE AND HOPE THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT ?

I'd rather have the money go to this school rather than a public school.

Ms. Noonan you have made a terrible choice...this decision will probably ( and hopefully so!!) light up this blog page. Should have kept the charity recipient a little closer to home!! All you have done is p'ed off a lot of people locally!! I for one will no longer plan on attending your concert this year. My hope is that many others feel the same. Not a smart move at all!! Trinity Catholic folks, nothing against you or your school...there are many wonderful families that are enrolled there.

Should go to the residents of Peru!!!

Can't approve this move using public money to support religion or religious education.

Those who have a grieveance with the distribution of a donation being made to Trinity Catholic from the Kid Rock Concert (if approved by the FAA). Please think back to the start of idea of using the Peru Airport for this event - if I remember correctly it was and still is an agreement between the Mayor of Peru and Ms. Noonan. Ms. Noonan had staged her rock concerts in LaSalle but was being told that this organization wanted an increase from $5500 to $8500 and that she must pay for the damage incurred from the last event. (To this day, she never has paid for the damage).
The Mayor has entered Peru into a bad business situation and no matter who gets the money from Ms. Noonans donation, he should have learned that private business and public (taxpayers funds) are not mixed successfully. Mayor Harl should have come to an agreement that the donation stayed in Peru (we are funding the periferal costs and that since Peru was a partner in this event, all financial books would be opened. Ms Noonan is a very good business woman - the City of Peru representative is not. I also question if this whole endeavor has been run by our City Attorney. He is there to advise prior to any kind of committment by our City officials.

Don't agree with that decision. Although, we shouldn't worry too much about it. The "proceeds" never "seem to be" quite large anyway.

Nobody ever complained when the Money went to other schools from out of the area. Oh! thats right, Its LaSalle. Many LaSalle Residents pay money to this concert. And when it was held at the sportsmans club which is not in LaSalle, LaSalle at no charge put extra officers up there to control traffic. Many family`s at Trinity are from Peru. You know the ones who pay taxes to the school district and get nothing out of it. How about the LaSalle residents who shop in Peru and their sales tax goes to Peru Public. Just some thoughts. Great news for Trinity. May god bless all you negetive people.

Peru has a Budget Director who is a part of the present administration, what is his thoughts of Marys' concerts always making a final profit of $25,000 to $26,000. With the sales of 15,000 tickets for Kid Rock and all the extra products for sale (beer, fish bowls, water, pizza and location areas to corporations for advertising such as cell phones) Mary stands all of a chance to make a sole profit of half a million dollars. Don't laugh at previous concerts a beer distributor gave her $10,000 and At&T gave her $10,000 to pitch a tent at the entrance so they could advertise and sell phones. She has been charging $7.00 per bottle of beer, $20.00 per fish bowl, $4.00 for a bottle of water and $4.00 for a slice of pizza which comes out to $32.00 per pizza. Of course citizens you have no complaints your getting FIFTY CENTS per ticket sold.

Everybody on here does nothing but complain. Nobody is putting a gun to your head to attend the concert. If all 10 of you who comment on this blog don't attend then believe me, you wont be missed.

Why doesn't the City admit to what this concert is going to cost Peru in terms of lost rent from farm land, grass seed, security, fire department expenses, insurance and a long lasting relationship with the FAA?
Balance these losses with the gain the city will receive from this concert and you have what? Oh! Thats' right the usual $25,000 is going to a LaSalle school.
Besides this the Mayor of Peru by permitting this concert is knowingly allowing the law to be broken because of all the xtras which come along with the concert.

As of today the FAA has not approrved the airport to be used as a concert site? Besides this approval what other government bodies must give their ok. Wouldn't the City Attorney and the insurance consultant have to address the city council on behalf of lliability issues and the city attorney address the city council on all legal issues which could be encountered and than the council also vote on their approval or disapproval? What government officials from Peru have given their OK and what were the reasons they expressed for their approval?

Very little has been publicly discussed at any public city council meeting. Only a very brief mention of the land taken out of production and the cost of grass seed to replant the farm ground that parking will leave in poor condition. I understand that our mayor is making the decisions and so I guess you might say that he is giving the OK. I really think that most of the council will agree with him, so if you believe otherwise it would be wise to talk with you alderman and give him your views. At this point, it looks like there will be only one person who makes money on this concert and some of it will be yours.

Thank you, First Legal in brief.
On Friday, May 18, 2012 @ 7 PM at the Dalzell Village Hall, a hearing will be conducted by the Zoning and Planning Board of Appeals of Dalzell concerning the request for a special use permit filed by Merry A Noonan and Lucille A. Yanke. The request is for a special use permit for the purpose of holding two or three music concerts.
Location in question is lots 36,37,38 and 40 , a total of 83.32 acres in Blakelys Subdivision.

The second legal is regarding the city of Peru regarding the release of funds from CDAP The city of Peru is planning to make improvements to their wastewater system to accommodate the expansion of a company located within the city. The Company plans to expand operations at its current site and add 25 full time positions in the next 2 years. The expansion will require upgrades to some of the cities sewer lines, 2 lift station improvements and improvements at the western wastewater treatment plant to accommodate increased flow from the plant. The project cost is estimated at 1,100,000. Of this total Peru is requesting release of 675,000. Remaining funds will come from the city of Peru.

Like usual! All you people do is BITCH about everything! I for one am glad that somebody in this area supports our youth! All I can say about you (the people that post on this blog) SELFISH! I dont think Mary Noonan Cares that one person isnt coming because you think she made a poor decision on who to give the money too! Heres a newsflash. Theres going to be thousands of other people there and as long as we're on the topic. If you are so upset about the way Peru is run, Move To LaSalle. You certainly wont be missed in this town.

Anon 7:16 The issue is not about the concert nor who receives the small percentage of the money. It is about the administration involving the cities fiances and government property along with illegalities. As a individual you referred to All and a movement to LaSalle. Please do, and take the carnival (concert) with you!

Kudos to the City of Peru and Concerts for a Cause for bringing such a wonderful event to this area. Not only does it fill every hotel in town that weekend and people shop here, it is slowly but surely putting Peru on the map. No matter where that money goes, it is going to a good cause. It is buying children computers. That qualifies in my book as a good cause. I don't know another person in town giving away thousands of dollars each year. To date, I bet Lou's has given away hundreds of thousands of dollars. I hope and pray that these concerts stay in town for years to come and the city and lou's can continue to work together!
