Does anyone know where our 2nd ice rink is and when and if it will be put into play this winter??

That'll teach them to not build an ice rink in Florida.

Great Question! Where is Peru's ice Rink at?

The only answer we need is to get a new mayor, new super of public works, and straighten out our stupid system of you is in charge of parks and rec.

They have not announced whether it has arrived here in Peru as of now. Being shipped from Vermont I believe.

Do we honestly know what happened to the old rink and who ordered the new one? And why were we in such a hurry to get a new one?

I think its already up!
In the back yard of the kosher pickel ambassador.

Think about this: Last spring and summer a number of residents affected by the pickleball intrusion into their backyards and they were brushed aside and the mayor ignored them and sat on his hands and did not even open his mouth to even try to mediate a solution. I hear that one person called the mayor and complained about having to take their kid to Oglesby to ice skate...voila! ice rink on order. Now remember that is only rumor.

Harl has only recently gotten over the fact he was overruled by his new Campaign Manager, Vinnie, on campaign slogan for this year. Apparently Mr Harl was hoping to save money and use his old leftovers from the last Campaign, "Time for a Change".

That didn't work out.

Geeeterdone ! Go 150!

I knew when I wrote that that someone like you would say exactly what you did. No surprise.

2:13 Maybe that is why he fenced in his entire yard.

3:16 when will someone explain this uniquely Illinois Valley need to never change your opinion about a politician, to stick with them forever no matter what kind of piece of crud they turn out to be. That explains why Baker was a Mayor since the middle ages. Now you bust Lois' chops because she supported Harl and now admits she was wrong?

Come to think of it, the real problem seems to be no one in Peru politics EVER admits they were wrong about anything, and go to EXTREME lengths to stick to their guns. Compromise is the dirtiest word around here since they dumped the Latin Mass.

6:30 p.m. You're another person I can show that admitting faults and willfully resolving mistakes is the correct path to take in politics. Bureaucracy and I just don't get along. If that makes me weak then so be it.

What so many of you people can't seem to understand is this.
Supporting Harl four years ago was not a mistake because as far as I'm concerned the old man needed to go. There should be no regrets from Lois or anybody else who supported Harl because we were successful in bringing the much needed change at the time. It was best for the city at the time.
If you are not happy with Harl, by all means, vote him out.
Just because you don't like him now does not mean we were duped or we should have voted to keep the good ol' boys club intact in 2009. Sorry, no regrets from this cat.
Regardless of any real or percieved problems we face today in Peru, that does not mean voting for Harl in 2009 was wrong.

Lois, Would you prefer that we still had Don and Judy running the show?
Like I said, vote Harl out if you want but don't try to tell my that my vote for Harl was wrong or that I was duped.
If you are that ignorant to the ways of politics then that's your own fault.

11:52 You're absolutely right. I too was a Harl supporter and at the time it was the right decision to make. However, I personally feel duped by him because he did not keep the promises he made or make the changes he promised.

After this evenings news paper article on last nights city meeting, I will not be voting for Scott Harl.

7:09 I honestly could not believe what I was reading in the News Trib. I too will not vote for Scott Harl.

Brian Foster, when is the Wells Fargo wagon delivering the new undamaged ice rink? From the amount of time it has taken it may be coming by a horse drawn wagon. Loved the video btw.
