One small comment on the appointments to the Recreation Board. The first resignation of Tom Stuart back in October made one position open and the first applicant was Marsha Perez, followed by Simon Kempworth. The mayor who initially had been bringing up the fact that they only had 2 names submitted to him. And then just a week or 2 ago Chuck Deisbeck announced his retirement from the Recreation Board so now there were 2 positions to fill but that should be fine as we have 2 people looking to sit on the board, Simon and Marsha. Time continued to pass and we waited and waited for the mayor to make the announcement for those 2 individuals to be appointed because he had been in such a big hurry to collect names and now he had them.
Lo and behold on the very last day Steve Michelini a well know contractor with the city puts in his name. Nice now the mayor did not:
No. 1 have to appoint a woman and secondly he now had at least one person he could most likely depend upon. Anybody else see just a bit of discrimination. Is it against the Peru ordinance to have the wife of an alderman on the Peru Recreation Board?
This looks similar to a picture seen on the news of the Obama advisers, all men.
So we continue to have a Recreation Board of one women and the rest men. Wouldn't it be nice to see some balance? Does the mayor realize that woman probably out number men voting in Peru?

Being that this seems to be a committee that has no special requirements I would think the lst two applicants would have been the reasonable and ethical choice. And, being that Mrs. Perez was the lst applicant she should definitely been the mayor's first choice.

HE WANTS EVERYTHING UNION AFFILATED--PLAIN AND SIMPLE TRUTH! CAN'T WAIT FOR APRIL.

No way would he have ever appointed Rodney's wife let alone another woman. We all know he was holding off to find one of his boys that would take the position. And of course it would have to be michelini who runs businesses on the cities dime. How can michelini take this position when we hire his company to do porta johns in the parks and everything else that the city pays him to do. Seems kinda crooked, but then again it is Peru and Hurl we're talking about.

Do you think any of the aldermen will question this decision before voting on it tonight?

Isn't it because of Michelini that Boggio's can't sell produce in Peru ? Sounds like we're being bamboozeled again.

Women of Peru take note and remember this issue in April. This is an outright slap in the face to Mrs. Perez. I would hope Alderwoman Mayzak would question it at tonight's meeting. It would be difficult for Rodney to do it because you know the good old boys will nail him to the wall if HE would bring it up. And none of the others will. So Sherry looks like it is up to you...again.

I do believe Ald. Mayszak has expressed her feelings to the people in charge of appointments.

Another no show for Joe jr. today.

Wasn't the fireworks bidding process supposed to be done by October of last year? What took so long?

Ald. Ankiewicz has the answer to that one and the reason for the delay is that he is not happy about this choice and kept delaying. It is about time he told us the truth why he desperately wants Melrose to get the contract.

Michellini has to try and have his fingers in everything. Also, a "union boy buddy" of Harl.

Does this mean we can't purchase explosives from the Deli back room anymore? Guess we have to go to Indiana.
As far as Alderman Perez's wife is concerned, would you expect anything less from that admin?

No joe jr tonite at meeting he was down the street at the township spending all our money places he shouldn't and salting his own driveway. Maybe Rodney can make him operation promise supervisor in April when he loses to debo.
