Operation Promise Not to Get Donation From ??

This was not written by the administrator of the blog.

Early 2012 the Peru Fire Department received a donation from a local car club in the amount of $2,000.00 Chief King chose to use that as a donation for Operation Promise. Chief King recently heard that the car club didn't want their donation going towards Operation Promise.
Gee!! Coincidence, Since Rodney recently took Operation Promise from the City of Peru
Chief King just withdrew their $2,000.00 donation from Operation Promise account and placed it back in the Peru Fire Departments Account.
Rodney was told by Chief King it would not be replaced.

MR. Chief King- That was a Peru Fire Department donation to Operation Promise. If you wanted to pull those funds from the Operation Promise Account to keep that club happy, you should've replaced it with the FD funds.
How can you commit a donation then take it back a year later???
Dirty Politics you should be ashamed!!

Did Operation Promise get their $2,000? Was out Saturday night and this money deal was being talked about. Wonder if it will be resolvesd soon. Someone mentioned that Fire Chief Kimg is going on another vacation this month. Nothing more has been mentioned about the money for a while. Should this issue be discussed at a council meeting?

Alderman Perez is very considerate to come and blog on this site. Haven't seen anything about this in days on here, so leads one to assume it's not resolved yet. Good question 7:45.

Peru wants to look like they are the leader of the Illinois valley, with new new new. All for show, no matter if something is really needed or just wanted (is this a need or a want?) to look good regardless of the financial ramification of the Cities finances. Don't departments that are called for mutual aid have pumper trucks? LaSalle? Spring Valley? Mendota? Pretty sure they do. Where in the heck has one half a million plus dollars been hiding? What account/accounts???? This isn't like going and purchasing some flowers to plant at the FD. How much
Is this truck for the FD going to cost the taxpayers? Would the FD be selling the one they now have?

200 comments on one subject. WOW! What a great service you have provided to Peru Lois. The blog has become the most informative , up to date distributor of all news in Peru. Thanks for making Peru a better town. Hard to believe that people did not know of such a thing as a blog ten years ago and look at what influence it will have on the upcoming elections.

On this gloomy Sunday I decided to go back since this blog sites existence to the precious years of this administration and read them. I came across December 2011 blog topics and was quite astounded to read about the FD on three different topics such as: vehicle (command vehicle). Ambulance service. And a letter from a fireman hself read to the council. This was just in one month. And now with most recent topic, should there be reasons to be concerned reading all of Dec. 2011 blogs and recent? Also, I was able to refresh my memory of alot of other issues with the city and departments. As elections are just around the corner I encourage all bloggerrs and taxpayers not to forget the past and to refresh your memory with taking the short amount of time out of your busy lives to read and re-read. So when you go vote, you can be confident that you make the correct choice. The 2010 blogs and topics are quite interesting also. read those also. Thank You to all who have participated on this site and to the blog administrator. Keep yourself and others informed of what's happening with your city and what the city is doing with your money as a taxpayer.

It is too bad that joint ventures between Peru and La Salle started and stopped with the LP TWP H.S. Someday, economics alone will cause more of them to join together but it won't come easy.

Can someone update everybody as to where the money is that was for operation promise $2 k. Did OP Get funds? Mr. Chief King, ?. Mr. Mayor Harl? Also, why was this issue handled in the manner that happened? Don't sweep this under the rug.

@5:18 You know it was popularity and had to do with having cocktails and garage parties in 2008/09! Where the only selected firefighters were invited to oust the one in charge. This was when fireman voted on chief! And when Harl came in to office he started appointing that position, and kept
It the same without a application process posted in paper. And then in august 2012 there was a monetary personal donation to Harls campaign war chest by fire chief and last week fire chief was re-appointed by Harl. Doesn't take Albert Einstein to figure out. Just go back and read blogs from years past and you will read what happened and how.
