Let's see how long this topic goes before it talks about corruption in the fire department or the concert. Lol

My money is the snowball effect that the PFD and Chief Jeff King and Ald Rodney Perez are guilty that this building is coming down for no reason. HAHA the Chief king and Ald perez are good men who deserve their positions! Leave them alone!!

Somehow someway, the topic of the PFD keeps crawling into topics. From my perspective, it feels like there is a management issue and the management has to start at the very top and that is the mayor and that is not happening. Everybody knows the present structure of FD only cannot support a full time fire chief and only if we have a EMS and FD combined would that be possible.
We as a city have to be able to solve our own problems. Do we need to combine services? I don't know enough about the departments involved to say yes or no. Some time back the PFD was accepting applications for additional firemen. Did we hire? I don't see any new names on their web site. Was this like the look for an engineer for the infrastructure and no one was qualified. I have heard via the grapevine that one of the part time firemen recently retired.

Hahaha I heard through the grapevine that that fireman should've been forced to retire years ago since he never showed up and had less than a 10% attendance rate . But then again when you host the garage party years back, certain things are allowed to slide by for you.

Anon 9:16 please give us some local examples. The Peru fire department is always looking for a few good people to be part-time fire fighters, its not a closed club.

Where were those cranes rented from? Is this a conflict of interest or just happened?

Has the "CONCERT FOR A CAUSE" established a cause yet? Also, has the FAA given their okay? Just curious!

No announcement on either as of today.

The cranes in question are presently owned by the city but evidently have become a problem with people to do repairs.

Today no vote was taken at the council meeting about renting some in the future. Tabled for lack of information.
