On Our Way to a Smooth Ride on Rte 6 Through Peru
During the past several weeks Mayor Harl took the initiative and contacted the right people and he got the job done, Route 6 through the city of Peru will be repaired. This time he did not have to deal with the council members that have attempted to stymie him every inch of the way from hiring a city engineer to closing the out dated and damaged swimming pool. He stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with the deal to pave Rte 6 curb to curb through Peru. A round of applause please for a job well done.

Are you serious? A real leader does not claim victory and pat himself on the back but makes it look effortless and gives praise to those around him. Mayor Harl may have assisted but this was much bigger than his little letters. This was a community who had enough and trust me all things come full circle. Two years will bring more change both at the local and State level afterall it's politics.
He did not claim victory, he gave praise to those who assisted in this and rightly so. Don't speak for the community because you don't speak for me and many people I know and we are a part of the community. Speak for yourself and only yourself and somehow I feel some bitterness in your tone. Still smarting from the last election, well I can only imagine how you will feel after April 5 when your whole world turns upside down.
Thank you Mayor Harl for your persistance and determination to get the ball rolling on this project. Not only did you succeed for the citizens of Peru you managed to do it at no cost to us. I know you were badgered week after week regarding the condition of Route 6 and I also know that you felt like your back was against the wall trying to get someone to listen and help. To 1:34 you are absolutely rights when you state that this is a much bigger accomplishment than you will ever know. Thank you again Mayor Harl.
lois mayor harl didn't hit a home run getting route 6 repaired he hit a grand slam. As a business owner on route 6 a job well done by the mayor
Congratulations Mayor Harl: You did a great job, meeting up with the people, who could help, with route 6. Also thank the Mayor from Peoria, who is a friend of Ray LaHood. You got it done. I'm so happy, Maybe with a new Council other things could get done, by working together.
To 1:34 p.m. - You comment is nothing but "Sour Grapes". You need to grow up after a good spanking.
will be nice, it is bad. So is the motorcycle noise on route 6 too. 80 decibels is the same as a dish washing machine or an electric shaver. Often times the motorcycle noise is so loud I can't have a conversation with my client 3 feet away.
Several states also provide for restrictions on a motorcycle's exhaust levels. For example, the Illinois Section 902-101 requires a muffler to remain on a motorcycle, and any muffler on the bike may not emit noise levels greater than the factory muffler. Section 902.122 restricts maximum decibels to 80 decibels at speeds of 35 miles per hour or less and 86 decibels for speeds greater than 35 miles per hour.
Thank you Scott Harl and any of your team that got this project done. Much needed!!
