Ward 2 Candidate Borostowski
This was removed at the request of the LaSalle New Tribune as it is an infringement upon their ownership of the article.
Mr Borostowski seems to be the only candidate bringing up absentee landlords or any landlords who do not maintain their property Kudos to him. No one else seems to be interested in this topic including the city of Peru.
I'm not in Bob's ward, but I also noticed that he was the only candidate to address that issue. Good for him! As a former police officer, he is certainly aware of the many ordinances that are not strictly being adhered to. I only wish my alderman had that same concern about residences with negligent landlords or property owners who store junk and cars in and on their yards.
I fully agree that Mr. Borostowski had an interesting outline. although I did go back through these candidates answers and found that Mr. Perez pointed out a concern. Before we jump the gun on this though I see each candidate was limited to like 300 words? Perhaps a forum to bring them all together so that we can ask them these questions.
7:57PM I would really like to see a forum but there does not appear to be any organization willing to sponsor this. When the mayoral forum was held 2 years ago, someone brought a womens group from Batavia. Right now the library is undergoing renovation and is unable to hold it there.
7:57 PM Because I live in an old section of Peru, I am very aware of problems that are ignored particularly by landlords who do not maintain rental properties. I did not mean to ignore Mr Perez and his concerns. With new ideas on the city council, perhaps neglected ideas will surface once again.
