News Tribune - News - NCI - Princeton hires city manager

I think it will be interesting to watch how Princeton will now be governed. This person seems to have the background and education to serve the city well. Princeton has had a city manager for a number of years but recently like many small towns, they have lost some long time large and small businesses. Similar in size and location to our city of Peru and even population but culturally quite different.

I do know that Princeton was a city of a lot of retired farmers years ago as many cities were. These numbers have gone down as bigger and more expensive machinery has demanded a farmer to farm more and more acreage or get out of the business.
So that I am thinking along the same lines as you and your comment Lois, would you please explain to me what you mean by Princeton and Peru being culturally quite different.
The groundwork for Peru to move towards a city managership should be seriously analyzed.

Lois, Princeton has had a City manager in the past. A few years ago you wanted change and the total opposite of City manager and you got the current Mayor. Now you want education, business direction and treat the city like a business? Please tell us your not leaving the Mayor you created.

I did not create this Mayor, I felt the city needed change but it has not happened in enough ways and too much is still ignored and money is still being spent that we don't have and no answers are forthcoming.
