IL Communities Honored for Fluoride Levels

IL Communities Honored for Fluoride Levels

While I personally am not a believer in fluoride,it is important to note that Peru is not on the list of honored cities in LaSalle County and my question would be why? I first picked up the story in the Bureau County Republican where there was an article about Princeton having a long time record of what the state considers the right thing. Most of the major cities in LaSalle county are on the list.

If you don't want to read the whole article, this is the listing from LaSalle County:

LaSalle Earlville Water Department *2005-2011
IL American Water Co. Streator *** 1993-2011
LaSalle Water Department **2000-2011
Leland Water Department *2003-2011
Leonore Water Department 2009-2011
Marseilles Water Department *2004-2011
Marseilles South Water Department
Mendota Water Department ***1994-2011 Ottawa Water Department 2010-2011
Rutland Water Department *2007-2011
Seneca Water Department 2009-2011

I believe there is a bill in the House (introduced maybe not sure if it hit committee) that allows municipalities to forego adding fluoride to municipal drinking supplies.

Fluoride levels don't equal quality water. Actually many science related articles refer to fluoride as a determent to your health. It shows that Princeton is a group of followers, nobody ever said the town was one to blaze a trail.

I SAID I was not a fan of fluoride in water and actually many people in Peru don't drink the city water(including me) and perhaps the same also exists in all cities.
Maybe that means that the cities that are putting fluoride in their water are wasting their money but the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH} requires it.
I know we have fluoride in our water and probably lots of other stuff that make it taste bad. My question is why is not our city on the list with all the other major cities in the county?

I found the first article in the BCR and the rest in the IDPH. Princeton is a nice clean city and there is no reason for you to be sarcastic about the town.

If I recall wasn't one of Princeton's water operator charged with falsifying water analyses data to the State and lost his water operators license and fined by the EPA back in the early 2000s?
