I noticed they said progress under the new City Manager.

Lois, getting the city to change the type of government isn't going to happen through the blog, get a petition going before the next election, even if you do get the signatures, I will bet the people won't allow the change.

Most people in Peru can't even spell government let alone decide which one is best for them. Another reason to move away - Apathy for everything except fireworks and beer gardens.

Most people in Peru cannot decide what is best for the? And you can? Typical blog comments. They are idiots if they don't agree with you. No one cares about beer gardens and fireworks except for a few bloggers. If you think that is what the city spends its time talking about then you are so far out of touch with what is going on it is ridiculous.

10:23 would you please run for office? And put your platform out there. All of us who are clearly beneath your intellect would love the chance to vote on whatever crap you are selling. Then when you lose you can tell us how stupid you are.

Looking forward to it!

11:56, I already told you I can't run for office in Peru. I moved away for a better job, in a better city, in a better state. There is no future in Peru unless you are among the connected few. I tried and failed to stay in the great Illinois Valley. Now I'm making twice as much, and paying 1/3 less in taxes in a city that is growing and actually cares about its citizens. I would have been so much farther ahead if I did this years ago. Oh well, I'll come back to visit and buy a corndog or maybe get some fired chicken.
