Since our Mayor likes to refer to larger cities each time he implements a new plan, perhaps he should consider something like this. I have sent this to several of the forward planning aldermen. I didn't read it in its entirety but enough to see that this city "gets it".

Great idea Lois but why send it to the Alderman? You should be the first volunteer to head up the advisory board and you could get going on a plan for Peru. You have the audience to gather opinions! You have computer skills and other blog contributors could lend a hand. I would be at the Council meeting to show my support when you present the idea and volunteer to head up the advisory board.  What do you think, is this project possible?

Thanks but I already have a job and sometimes it feels like I have a dozen jobs.

Off topic. Why is Mr. bourke on paid leave from LP?

What Lois? Always part of the problem and never part of the solution?

I read that the master plan had a steering committee so I think the neighbors around that park on 28th st should be appointed to the board. Lois is friends with them so she can help them get started with the proper procedure. It would seem they should volunteer as soon as possible before others take this good idea away from Lois. Can they be contacted to see when they will volunteer?

I seem to notice that some clever citizens are trying to be sarcastically coy and again imply that no one is allowed to question, complain and challenge the city officials unless they personally are elected and serving on a committee themselves. It is a common bullying tactic and reflects poorly on the individual making the comment.

Here is a thought. Why not answer the complaints directly with some logic and thought instead of minimizing them and falling back on how you handled things in eighth grade. It really is pretty small town stupid to say shut up unless you can do a better job. It might be a nice new tactic to put the energy into actually doing a better job.
