Thank You Lois for this posting.
As I read this news trib article , I just wonder why we have an alderman who seems to be a liar.
The story seems to back up the issue , No fireworks at Baker Lake. That is the opinion of the folks around the lake and not at Mr Perez stated in the past that 98% of the people around the lake approve of fireworks at the lake. That is wrong and untrue .
What is Mr Perez's agenda?, to make the city better or lie to the people of peru?

HUH? Did I miss something? and the point of this guys petition was for what? Does anyone know if this guy was at that meeting that was held at city hall last week?
I thought I was told the fireworks was staying on water street? by looking at the top of the petition it looks like it say's " keep the fireworks on water street"? isn't that what people are signing for?
I don't know it sounds to me like this guy had some delayed or wrong feedback from somewhere. Gee, I wonder who would have gave the wrong feedback. well since there is a petition in the Deli perhaps the sausage peeler had something to do with it?
Anyway. I think this whole petition thing was an attack to dis-credit perez. Just doesn't make sense to me, especially since moving the fireworks off of water street is not even being disscussed. perhaps this is what that one posting meant when he stated mafia?

This petitioner must live on top the hill, Like Ferrari, so he has a party all lined up. Hes not thinking about others just himself.

My agenda is to get to Water Street and take photos so all the people world wide that read this blog will understand what we are discussing.

Alderman Ankiewicz with a petition in his deli and he wants to be able to vote on anything concerning the fireworks, NO and particularly since he would not have the decency to remove himself from the discussion and abstain, I think the Mayor needs to tell him and Ferrari, you will not vote on something in which you have a vested personal interest.
I personally believe there are some people, past and present members of the council who are still getting advice from former Mayor B. and that has become even more apparent over the last couple of weeks and many people have been aware of it for the past 2 years.

Then Ald. Perez should not vote on anything concerning the Fire Department - in fact, he should not have been appointed to the Public Safety Committee.

ANON 1:51 What makes you think alderman Perez is the liar? Just because someone disputes his findings does not mean that person is right and the alderman is wrong. Unless you yourself went door to door and spoke to the same people as Mr. Perez don't make rash decisions. Maybe the petitioner is lying and I sure don't think it's justifiable for alderman Ankiewicz to have a petition in his deli (in indeed he did). Unless you have been at all the meetings regarding this issue I don't think you should come to a conclusion as to who is lying and who is not.

The paper says that this Mr. Ron, the guy with the petitions will go to the council meeting tonight as the council votes, I can't make the meeting but I think someone should ask Ron, is Alderman Ankeiwitz in any shape or form lead him on this journey, In addition to that, someone should also ask this Ron if he knows alderman perez or has ever questioned perez about his plans for the fireworks.Something really fishy about this article, especially since this guy was walking around with a petition that didn't make sense.
I think you will be surprised what you find out.

will the real liar please stand up.

Brian there are very few votes on anything related to the fire department and he would probably abstain from those. He does read the F.D. report but anyone could do that. I believe Mr. Perez to be a very conscientious person.

Bob A. does have a petition in his deli. in fact my mother told me that Bob asked her to sign it because Rodney was trying to move the fireworks from water street. My mother refused to sign it because the grandkids can't go down there because it is to crazy down there. my mother told Bob that having it somewhere like baker would be nice.

6:21 How did this petition not make sense? Did you see it or read it? What did it say?

Any news on the council meeting? enquiring minds want to know how the vote went. Was it as I predicted in a previous post? CSO against 3 council members? 5-3?? please update us Lois

I believe the only person who clapped on the vote was former Mayor Baker, so I believe he was the winner. And I believe he is also probably a CSO member and yes they won. I still believe it was a conflict of interest, maybe a call to the Attorney General would solve that issue but then maybe they already read the blog, who knows.

Voting against the issue was Potthoff, Ankiewicz, Ferrari, Waldorf, who we call the usual suspects and to our surprise Radtke. The claim of the 1st ward aldermen was that they talked to residents around the lake who were now in opposition to it and last week when Perez walked and talked they were for it.
I can only imagine what Ferrari said to them because he does not want his annual picnic goers to be disappointed. He also said he was speaking for the residents of his ward. I have news for him, many of his who were working toward an event at Baker Lake are also in the 1st ward. After watching that circus tonight, I can only say from my viewpoint, I am working toward some new aldermen in several of the wards, namely the first and the third.

6:21 to 10:16 yes, all it said was " keep the fireworks on water street" Mr. Glancy told petitioners, my sister for one, that Alderman Perez wanted to move the fire works from water street. "Untrue"
Didn't make sense being that they weren't being moved and from what i heard perez had a public meeting 2 days before he started petitioning and people that were there said this Ron guy was not there to get details or facts.

I hear that at the meeting last night Baker stood up and thanked Alderman Radtke for his vote. Sure sounds like he was thanking him for being a new Baker boy being that he did not thank anyone else that voted no.

I thought Mike was smarter than that.

Anon 7:12 I believe Don Baker was thanking Ald. Radtke for standing on his own two feet by doing research, making a decision and than expressing it. It was quite a pat on the back for a Alderman of four months from a Mayor of 44 years.

12:25 Me too. It's sad to see how fast the Good Ole boys can influence the weak. I went through the old articles regarding the waterstreet debate. Go back and follow Alderman Radtke's comments since the first article. but then again.. I wonder if alderman Radtke was a CSO member at those beginning debates. HMMMM..
