Special Thanks to you and Linda D. For all your help today. We had a great turnout of volunteers who helped today. It was nice to see that non residents of Peru even joined us.
It's amazing what a committed group of volunteers can accomplish! It's great to have strong guys who can throw a large bag of topsoil over their shoulders and get to work. The guys cleaned out each planter and put in a new layer of topsoil. The ladies picked out the flowers and then planted them. Special thanks to Marsha Perez who went above and beyond today and finished the planters on Water Street. Then the guys came along with a water cart and watered each planter!
Helping with the project today was Lois Carroll, Linda Dzierzynski, Art Giese, Tom Riordan, Marsha Perez, Alderman Rodney Perez, Jared Olesen, LP student Jake Obermiller helping for gold cord hours, and Master Gardeners Robin Nation and Debbie Adrian, my mom Janice Lierly and myself. Next up: hanging baskets for downtown!!
I think its great that there is a volunteer committee, for the flower planting. I know it will look a lot better with women doing the job. And also save the city a lot of money. Thank you Volunteers.
Thanks volunteers you did a great job! Looking forward to joining you next time. I have wanted to join a group with community spirit in Peru for a long time but have had little opportunity or encouragement. I don't have a green thumb but I am willing and ready to volunteer.

A green thumb is not necessary. You sound enthusiastic and I'm looking forward to having you join us!
