From the posting it is not clear if the applicant will have to pay for their own spine removal, or whether the city will cover that for them?

Specifically as the job description reads what type of engineer should Peru be advertising for? What type of engineer are they advertising for and at what salary range?
At the present time it appears best to seek further knowledge than to comment because something seems ought of order.

The key aspect of this phony job posting is that the city of Peru is not even requiring the applicants to be a "Civil Engineer", which is exactly the engineering discipline that a qualified individual would possess.
Also, there is no requirement for applicants to have had any actual experience in a supervisory position. This person should be expected to bring actual leadership, discipline, and organization to a disorganized and undisciplined public works department that has floundered out of control for at least the past 30years.
The qualifications have obviously been "dumbed down" which will ultimately water down the pool of applicants with inexperienced and unqualified candidates. This is by design and will allow the mayor and council to hire someone they want instead of someone they desperately need. An independent and qualified Civil Engineer. Maybe the most revealing aspect of this fake job posting is the fact that the city of Peru and the current council has no clue what to look for in a quality engineer candidate and nobody with the knowledge or ability to properly review applications and effectively interview for this job.
This process is rigged, plain and simple.

Anon 7:01 In agreement in all aspects mentioned. Rained soaked and watered down. It is a huge problem when everyone is starting to realize that Peru has no one involved directly with the city who would, could, should evaluate or select a enineer for the city. I personally would like to see a independent committee put together to select a engineer for Peru and their selection be presented to the council in open debate if any differences of opinion. What is your feelings on how a engineer should be selected?

I believe the gentleman Harl hand picked from NCICG is already in waiting-don't be fooled Chamlin will forever involved in Peru after all Clinard and Etzenbach are on the Hospital board/committee. BTW NCICG is an interesting business especially with Democrat County Board Chairman Hicks as the President...

Now who wants to talk how politics really works?

1115. We had that. It was called the infrastructure committee

Anon 11:15 So? Is the Infrastructure Committee officially in existence or has it been concluded officially? If in existence and interested why don't those involved willingly step forward and exert their influence. When active they were a great idea.

7:16 - That Committee was killed by some aldermen because they were intimidated by the committees abilities. The aldermen were afraid they would be shown up and exposed as the ineffective do- nothings they are.

A couple of nights ago there was a ad in the local newspaper for a Peru city engineer. Have not seen it since. Does anyone else know of a ad anywhere else? Hear that this job is of a closed shop nature.
