Do we have to live in Peru to help?

Great Job! What a great thing to do for Our community. If my knees weren't bad I'd help.

No you don't have to live in Peru to help. Please feel free to join us!

6o hanging baskets were assembled and are ready to be hung throughout the business district and also the east end business district.

Would also like to hear your comments when they are all up and looking beautiful. The watering of the baskets will be done by Ald. Perez and perhpas other volunteers.

Anyone notice on the recorded video of last weeks city council, not one elected official could bring himself to actually give credit to Perez and volunteers for a job well done. Shame on them.

They thank the CSO, they thank city employees but just didn't have enough of the right stuff to thank the volunteers.

You make a great point Lois. I hope the volunteers will just continue on with their contribution to Peru and never expect the elected officials to acknowledge their efforts. The more time that passes without thanks from city officials the more people will realize what self-centered chumps most of them really are.
Volunteers can move this city forward in spite of the roadblocks put in place by the current city council. Shame on them is right!

Last years concert at the airport cost the city $25,000 that Mayor Harl wrote off and Peru never got paid for. The BB gun club building in the basement of city hall accumulated debt so fast that the Budget Director couldn't keep up and it was supposed to be all paid for by donations. The volunteers who planted flowers DID Not cost he city a thing not even a big fat Thank You from Harl and Company. Truthfully the true volunteersw are the only ones frowned upon by his honor.

That's because the mayor likes a photo op with the stars that the concerts bring to town. Plus the mayor is good buddies with Vacarro. Remember who leads the volunteer planters, Rodney Perez. We all know how the mayor feels about Rodney. Throw in Sherry, Lois, and Linda, and do you think there is a chance of those people getting a thank you from the mayor? No way! Hopefully one of the aldermen will step up and give them a little thanks, but I'm not sure any of them has the nerve to do it.

Anon 9:36 Sometimes in this world you have to bow down and the result is that everyone thinks you are a bigger and better human being for doing so. You do this on your own as your own IDEA without any coaxing what so ever.
Therefore I don't think that after two weeks the mayor or aldermen will be offering any thanks to the volunteers as they frown upon this practice. They are only thankful for unacountable or in kind work hours. Presently Peru has many business dealings which could be considered in the gray matter and getting closer and closer to the dark side. Waiting and watching!
