Hours away from another budget-less fiscal year, Gov Rauner repeats goals

Hours away from another budget-less fiscal year, Gov Rauner repeats goals

Is Peru with our Lobbyist helping the stalemate as the Democrats including our Mayor Harl and Lobbyist McAnarney fundraising with Madigan. Co conspiraters actually hurting the entire state.

Seems that 3 of the 4 yes votes are total yes men to the Mayor. Figure it out yourselves.

Why complain if there are only 3 yes men? It takes 4 and Mayor break the tie. You complained when Baker had 8 yes votes!

Lois you are a Republican officeholder now. We see through your attempt to discredit Harl and other Democrats. You have become a political tool for the new Republican party in Peru.

Anonymous said...

We need more Republican "tools".

The Democratic party left me and my values and that is why I am where I am now. I was always an Independent all my voting years and now it was time to stand up for my values which are definitely not those espoused by the Democrats. My very first Presidential vote proudly went to John Kennedy. What is going to be on the ballots this year is going to be enough to keep many at home because of both parties current proposed presidential .nominees

All 8 aldermen are republicans.

Not true.

5:48 PM, You are a real "tool".

Anonymous said...

9:11 I doubt that. Maybe 2-3.

Who are the 3 total yes men, the 1 questionable yes man, and where do the others stand? Who are democrats? Who's republican? And which ones will be easy to beat? Where do I go for campaign help? How much does a election cost?

Anonymous said...

8:56 which 2-3?

You can't win. Go to the township office and ask for a campaign manager. Make up dirt about whoever your running against and send that out in the mail, get a blog site and post only false information both personal/political about the incumbent.

22 votes on the township issue. You have the no votes coming from the township officials and family. What reason would anybody use to validate the township duties, salaries and performance? Please anybody give us one idea why this taxing body should be saved. And any reason why the wages of those making 5 figure salaries should be paid. And why is the greater majority of the tax dollars going toward elected official salaries? And why did we vote in a whole new group to change the township not do anything, until they were caught and publically called out? Those voting no must have some educated reason to keep the status quo.

To 1:05 PM, Peru Township will endure because Harl, you, and other nitwits like you have no chance of defeating people who are smarter and more politically savvy than you will ever be. You are an amateur trying to play ball with the big boys. You will lose again and again.

1:05 PM, June 30, 2016 - because it is currently required by law. The consolidation everyone is wishing for is not legal yet. Talk to Andy Skoogs and Sue Rezin and get that part completed.

3:26 I agree you are smarter and more political savvy then the majority of us schmucks. You get paid a huge taxpayer salary for doing nothing. You offer nothing for the wage and benefits you gather. Yes, you are laughing at all of us who pay your wages and benefits. But, sooner of latter your arrogance will take a fall. And your political future will be gone.

3:26 PM, June 30, 2016 - Big Boys? LMAO - everyone involved in politics around here are just a bunch of Yokels.

Happy Independence Day folks. Gosh, my family and I just love our fireworks celebration in Peru. We have our tables reserved down at Russ's place and we have some kin from Mississippi coming in for Peru's big celebration. Can't wait to see ya'all down at the Water Street tonight. It's gonna be a hoot! Sure hope we get a chance to meet the mayor and some of them there aldermen to thank'em fer showin us the true meaning of bein' a Merican. Peru's leaders are the best patriots ever. Yee Haw!

Best fireworks location tonight. Biggest crowds in years and years. Very family friendly. Well done!

Anonymous said...

I didn't think the fireworks display was as good as the recent past. Didn't Peru change pyrotechnic companies?

Anonymous said...

I have one word that best describes Peru's MALL BRAWL last night with the ridiculous traffic patterns and the great throngs of unwashed masses all jockeying for a pyrotechnic viewing position. Crowd control was totally ineffective and it was truly a certifiable CLUSTERFU**!
Water Street was no better but no worse either and the MALL BRAWL should be the last time Peru tries its hand at a community event they have no idea how to execute. Tell the CSO dudes to sell Tootsie Rolls when they need some seed-money for their picnic. Wait until the Mall closes and can be knocked down. Then there will be enough space for Pyro Parking. Poor planning and poor execution Peru. You are still clearly best known as the "Cheater of the Valley".

If the local elected officials are just Yokels then get a backbone and run for office.

10:37 7-4
If all you can do is complain then you too get off your backside and run for office. Please explain with proof how they are the The Cheater of the Valley

7:58 don't waste your time. It's the same three or four people saying the same thing. They are clueless.

7:58 AM, July 05, 2016 - why would I want to go to meetings with a bunch of Yokels that haven't had an original thought since 1976?

You know what they say, you can lead a horse to water. And you can surely make an Illinois Valley Big Shot drink - as long as he is not paying for it.

Speaking of Illinois Valley Big Shots.... when is old Frank going to jail? Today is the 5th. I haven't heard his "story" yet.

3:28 do you think by referring to aldermen as "yokels" somehow this (A) gives you more credibility or (B) makes you look like an ass?

For your information, the answer is a clear and unanimous B.

None of the aldermen were on the council even a couple of terms ago, so not sure what your reference is to 1976. Was Radke is grade school yet in 1976? Instead of bitching, why don't you (wo)man up and run for office? What are you afraid of? At least they have the courage to be there and make decisions. All you do is come on here and cry about the "yokels". How pathetic is that?

Agree or disagree at least they do something that can be agreed or disagreed with. You on the other hand call people names, which is really ballsy coming from an anonymous person.

5:02 PM, July 05, 2016 - 1976 is a reference to the mentality of the movers and shakers for our little fiefdom. They are mostly aging Baby Boomers. Even those that are younger lack creativity and have not experienced much of life outside of Dog Patch. Its funny in a pathetic sort of way when they all get excited about going to Chicago for the municipal league conference. They think it is such a far away land that they need to spend several nights. In reality, it is a commute and they should come home and eat their TV dinner while watching Jeopardy.

The only thing that has changed in Peru since 1976 is the name of the Mayor, council, and employees. Even many of them have the same last name. Oh sure, we have more stores up north, but that just makes up for the inflation of costs for buttering bread.

I think the big head turner will be when they cart Frankie Mautino off to jail. That will signal the beginning of the end to the cronyism that permeates Dog Patch - or as the Yokels like to call it the "Illinois Valley."

10:37 AM, Thanks for telling it like it is.

the early to mid 1970's is when most of our leaders grew up. They are heavily influenced by the culture in the Illinois Valley at that time. Which, as I recall, was a period of very heavy beer drinking, going out to "supper clubs", gambling, very little travel outside of LaSalle County, mostly manual labor and factory work.

it is far better than the technology controlled crowd of today!

8:58 you are the same person who paints everyone with the same stroke. You are obsessed with how "different" somehow Peru or the "Illinois Valley" is from the rest of the world. What you are saying is it is a bunch of normal people. What someone did in the 1970s does not matter to me, whether they are a mayor or the president of the United States. You my friend are the only one stuck in the past.

Anonymous said...

7:37 the only thing that has changed is what? Take a look at the Illinois Valley over the last couple of decades. Most have not changed, aside from Peru. What is the point of your little "dog patch" comments? You always try to make yourself sound like some big shot by making everything sound pathetic. If it is such a pitiful little town with 10,000 people, a huge sales tax base and a $50+ million budget then run for office and knock those little people of their little fiefdoms and show them how its done! I can't wait to see you run! Lol

Anonymous said...

5:32 PM, July 07, 2016 - take a chill pill 'Lil Abner. Peru is Dog Patch. It is run by a few big shots that have never been elected to anything. Those holding office genuflect in their presence an do their bidding. Been that way since the 1960's. The one and only purpose of Peru is to make money for these big shots. One of them even said, in a public forum, that he "wished we could do away with all the residential parts of Peru. It would make it much easier without permanent residents."

Anonymous said...

7:31 you need help. That comment was said in jest and you know it. I certainly wasn't there but it was a joke and saying otherwise is just another lie. Listen to you. So pathetic. So jealous. So very wrong.

You have no idea what the hell is going on. Mayor Baker was doing someone's bidding? Now it's Harl. The old council was all corrupt. The new council is all corrupt. Peru is a dog patch. LaSalle is amazing. I'm 'Lil Abner. We are all sheep. You are awesome.

I want to feel sorry for you, but I just can't quite bring myself to do it. You are blinded by personal hatred and have little or no interest in improving anything or you would. If we are Dog Patch USA then you should have no problem being a big shot when you run for office and show us how its done. Show us how it's done, big man.

11:41 AM, July 08, 2016 - the entire Illinois Valley is Dog Patch, not just Peru.
