Another run on our rights by the Chicagocrats. This time sponsored by a RINO Republican. Can't wait until until Rauner is elected. Might as well keep Quinncometax - at least he is honest about attacking our rights.
God you people are nuts. This is a very specific prohibition on unregulated campaign funding... Because most of this do called free speech is nothing but spending on campaign propaganda.
Free speech is fine. Come on the blogs and say what you want. But if you are libeling people in secret, I have no use for you.

Another "committee as a whole" meeting tonight at 6:30 starts out with closed session. These meetings really should be titled "committee as 'a hole' "!!! Wonder if the public will ever get to hear what goes on in these meetings?
Hmmmmm. I wonder if the alderwoman will bother to show up for tonight's public property meeting? Will this meeting be important enough for her to waste her time attending???
Mueller doesn't seem to know how a city government works . She just walked in and went to the dark side immediately. She's supposed to do what's right for our town , not herself or a few people . Shame on you Becky !

There are limits , although weak, to campaign contributions. And people can use nice names for their pac... Yet unfortunately for them they have a hard time hiding from the disclosure laws.
But...now follow me on this one.. If really rich people can anonymously slander and attack people, spending unlimited amounts on tv radio ads... Then hide behind free speech... Well the secret ultra conservative and rich can make sure their hand picked candidates get in.
You just saw a similar example here, big fish in small pond. This article Lois posted was written by a group with an agenda. It is getting rare support from both sides because it is fair and reasoned... Not because they want to take away your precious rights. We don't want your guns either...you can keep em. Remember, the people who shout insults while people are burying their loved ones hide behind free speech and religion. Does not make it right.
