L-P Going To Try Electric Aggregation « AM1220 WLPO News
Not only businesses not liking Peru's electric rates, it sounds like LPTHS is not too happy either. Fortunately most of the school is in La Salle and can go out for better rates like Ottawa. Does this now mean that producing your own power is not so cheap?

Lois,
It seems youre so bent on causing controversy you don't even read the articles you post anymore.
"The part of L-P High School that falls in Peru writes their electric bill to the city of Peru. Wrobleski says they’re happy with the rates they pay to Peru."
The article I read last night did not say "happy"
Last night, it read that they were having with the city of Peru electric rates and today it read happy. And maybe you should not be so quick to jump on something but simply ask about it first. And maybe those of you down at city hall are too quick to jump on whatever appears on the blog in any attempt to discredit this communication tool for Peru residents.
@1:22
The one thing that you can usually count on is that normally Lois checks her facts before she posts. People that comment usually don't but Lois is usually very good when she checks her facts.
Are you serious? Lois always checks her facts?
Lois and most bloggers do NOT check facts before they start making statements about the subject.
They make several observations and state opinions on the subject but to say they check the facts is dead wrong.
Be specific 7:47

You blogging on company time again?
No I do not work, and please be specific. I am waiting. If you make comments like that, provide some facts.
Hard to argue with1:22. I think that blogger hit it right on the head. It's pretty obvious Lois is desperate to find a daily negative topic to crucify Peru Officials with. Oh how she wishes every elected official was named Rodney or Sherry. I think we finally have an intelligent, proactive Council and Mayor and Lois has fought it kicking and screaming the whole way.
The word having was changed to happy late this morning. Lois' posting at the time of entry is correct.
Being that the new athletic complex is being built in LaSalle and ground is broke on the same day as the Super announces he wants to seek electrical aggregation in LaSalle's section of L-P and he is happy with Peru rates. Was Peru ever considered for this complex and what is the comparison between the two cities in costs for utilities?
There has not been alot of questions on the complex because of the attitudes involved. They presented nothing as far as the wants of the people or a referendum. Strictly a case of "We are the power". The 1% tax proposed and already beaten 2 times in back to back elections is a failure in this area because of the athletic complex. There are many other more important needs at L-P than a athletic complex.

And your point is that you don't like me and believe I belttle Peru to make myself feel good? No one is really interested in what you think of me so don't waste your time writing in or even reading this blog. This is about Peru, so please keep on topic. All the big boys down at city hall should be able to handle a little criticism because holding public office should not be undertaken for your own ego but to make this a better place for all to live in.
All comments regarding the electric rates for LP High are worthless unless the rates presently paid to Peru, Ameren and the new supplier are listed. Then the comparisons can be made.
LP knows exactly what they are paying and have obviously made the analysis. Thus the decision.
9:58 I assume you are aware that LP has owned the land for the athletic complex for many years so it wasn't really a decision of where it would go. Count me in the silent majority that is very pleased they are building the complex. It is long overdue.
As far as the blog comments, someone is asking for facts. The moment you go to a blog the includes 90+ % posters who are anonymous, it has zero credibility for "facts". I am usually only a reader but I've never seen so many rumors and innuendo in one place. Having said that I defend the right of lois or whoever to post things, but if you come here for anything but entertainment or to vent, you are missing the entire point of what blogs are.
ASnon 8:15 Because someone owns a piece of land does not make it a automatic locked in decision that this is where they are to develop a new complex. There is no silent majority pleased that they are building the complex, in fact there are so few pleased that there isn't even a silent minority, Proof of this is that a rookie candidate was the top vote getter for the IVCC Board. That is what you call a fact.
To 9:43 pm, I'm sorry did you say "intelligent and pro-active" city council and mayor?
You do realize your blanket statement of intelligence covers each and every council member don't you?
I defy you to present a single example of a pro-active program or an intelligent observation made by one or more of the following individuals on this council.
Please be specific.
Tony Ferrari.......
Dave Waldorf.......
Jim Lukosus........
Bob Ankiewicz......
Scott Harl.........
Well we're waiting!

We have done some calculations on our Peru electric rates from our own bill.
Beginning per kilo hr, is .0683 and then add the cost adjustment and it becomes .10321 followed by the Illinois utility tax for a total of .10641 per kilo hr.
Very good Lois. Finally some numbers are presented. Now will someone from LP tell us what their power rate is with Ameren. And,maybe if we're lucky, someone will tell us what the electric rate is going to be with XYZ company.
Anon 7:20 Comment with your own numbers instead of delegating. If you want to play the game get on the team.
3:42...silly comment. You really don't know what this discussion is all about. I'm in Peru so my rate is the same as Lois. Now, compare the Ameren rate if you live in La Salle. The school said they are satisfied with the Peru rate. Now the XYZ rate may help lower costs if there isn't a sleeper clause relating to peak load hours. Try to be civil.
Anon 8:37 I agree with 3:42. We know how to do it without your coaching . What you are being told is do it yourself and quit expecting others to do it for you.
8:37 You claim that the comment by 3:42 is a a silly comment, that 3:42 doesn't know what the discussion is all about and tell 3:42 to be civl.
I also live in Peru and have studied the electrical agreements for several years including the long term contract withe IMEA and its present expansion.
I also know that Peru supplied electricity to two corpoirations at North Peru who were worked the day shift only at a loss.
You are the one who is not civil and is regarded as a five minute general who only wants to delegate but never take steps towards the front line of actually doing something on your own. Lois could you do this for me? Lois could you find out this for me? What is the insignia for a five minute general? Perhaps a series of question marks and a command? It would be best for you to work your way up from the bottom rather than wanting to start at the top! You might learn something. But I doubt it.
