Thank goodness the Alderman voted to “investigate” the hiring of a City Engineer.

Hopefully the right candidate is selected and the Alderman ask the Engineer to begin an Infrastructure Plan.

Then and only then will the Alderman have the information necessary to decide which projects should be completed first.

The Alderman will also know in some detail what cost the City will have to deal with over the next 5, 10, 15, 20 years.

Imagine that!!! The City of Peru will have a Plan !!!

Thanks to all the Alderman who voted for the “Plan” to hire a City Engineer.

Who would NOT vote for this “Plan”

“Ya Gotta Have a Plan”

I wonder why such a hurry to hire an engineer now after all this time? People have been saying we need one on staff for years. Why the hurry now and why now during hard economic times?

I thought the City had a committee that decided which projects are to be completed? The cost has already been outlined and the engineering firm has a contract.

This need for a city engineer is frankly, STUPID.
La Salle HAD AN ON STAFF ENGINEER, what happen to her, she was let go because there was NO NEED.

Why should the city of peru have the additional costs paying for someone when the money is tight or being spend foolishly.

Here we go; The subject is :
For Peru , To add $4 millilon in added tax revenue OR SPEND $3 million plus interest for infrastructure for buddies ????

Interesting comparison, right ? plus $4 M or spend $3 M, that is the question that the city of Walnut has decided to provied WIND MILLS TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY vs our wonderful city Mayor Harl who has said no to wind mills.

Well folks here is what we now have. Borrow $3 M dollars and LOSE TAX REVENUE BECAUSE OUR MAYOR DOES NOT LIKE THE PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATION SUGGESTION TO EARN TAX REVENUE by building a wind mill farm.

Great going, again another FAILURE OF MAYOR HARL'S ABILITY TO MAKE THE CORRECT DECISION FOR THE CITZENS OF PERU.
The Longer Harl is in office the MORE lack of ability decisions he makes and continues to pull us down in the gutter.

The city of LaSalle still has an engineer but just not the woman who worked for them a couple of years ago but she is employed by one of the Chicago suburbs now.Peru should have hired her when they had the opportunity.

Change of administration brought in a new engineer, in fact I think he was an assistant to the earlier one.

WRONG are Alderman in Peru for voting this position of City Engineer?

WRONG are the votes of Alderman in other Cities like Peru with City Engineers?

WRONG are all those Cities for developing long term plans for infrastructure repair.

WRONG are the Alderman for wanting facts and figures to base infrastructure plans.

WRONG are all the Mayors of those Towns for supporting the decision to hire an Engineer.

WRONG are the Alderman for not waiting a “few more years” to develop a Plan.

WRONG are the Plans to repair some of the roads in Peru next year.

WRONG are Peru Electrical Dept employees that did NOT recommend going forward with a Wind Mill. (thank you foreman)

THANK YOU ALDERMAN OF PERU for your thoughtful investigation of the subject.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOTE.

THANK YOU FOR BEING SO WRONG……...

( I bet 9:24 will think I agree with him, isn’t he just a hoot?)

I'm not convinced that windmills are good for Peru, other cities with more space might benefit from them.

To 11:47am, why would you think 9:24am is a HE ?

To 11:47 am;

PS, you may be talking about the next NEW Mayor of the city of Peru in 2013. Be careful !

Is this really A ciuty engineer position or just someone to draw up a plan for next 5 years? Does this handle streets and drainage or do they still keep Chamlim?

They have always said that along with a city engineer, the would use another firm as consulting engineers and that would probably be Chamlin. Still should reduce our cost for engineering work.

My friend who works for IDOT called about this position. It is for a consultant company, not for a city engineer. There will be no change for Peru.
