Does Anyone Know of a Garden Club in the Illinois Valley
I believe I have read where there were Garden Clubs in the La Salle Peru area in years past and does anyone know if any such club exists here in Peru at the present time? Anyone with information, please write to us.
Justin, Ald Mayszak was wondering if we had one to possibly help planning landscaping and flower gardens in the parks. All the flowering plants seem to be neglected each summer. Ottawa has so many volunteers working on there downtown etc., wondering if we could implement something like that in Peru with citizen help.
Ottawa has a beautiful downtown... compliments of their volunteer garden club. Please call their City Hall and ask for the number of the person in charge of that group. And guess what...... their garden areas are absolutely beautiful. Definately something Peru needs to have because we are only in weed mode now. Gardens are horrible in this town.
If you would like to obtain any information in regards to the City of Ottawa call City Hall (815-433-0161) and ask for Nancy Stisser, Administrative Assistant to Mayor Eschbach.

Are you referring to a community garden?

I will call them. Thank you for the information! I think a volunteer garden club would be a wonderful way to beautify Peru.
Thank you Lois for putting this out there!
