It's government's way. They need something - they tax the people. Heaven forbid that they cut their budget or live within their means or wait until they have the money to make improvements.
LaSalle County has more taxing bodies than Cook County. We know how to tax. Tax for schools, tax for parks, tax for retirement, tax for public safety, tax for county, tax for township, tax for state, tax for federal, tax for animal control, fuel tax, liquor tax, phone tax, utility tax, cable tax and soon Peru will invent another tax called the POTHOLE TAX.
