Someone Asked About the Next Meeting for the Firemens Pension Board
Thursday at 1 pm at PFD is meeting . That is this Thursday March 20. I couldn't locate the original question but it was today I got the answer about the mtg.

This meeting hopefully will be attended by many people. Are there closed sessions at these meeting also?
Wonder what's been discussed for the past 12 months at these fire pension meetings? Would be great if they were videotaped. Public has a right to know about these meetings also. Secretive? Why?
Right- self-employed people can arrange their schedule, and alderman who have jobs out of town would have a difficult time attending. THIS IS PERU AND HOW IT WORKS. What a joke.
THe full time firemen deserve a pension, not the "volunteer" firemen! I commend the men that do volunteer, they are heros in my book! they sacrifice so much for so little! Our present fire chief does not deserve one! He has manipulated the system to get exactly what he wants to better himself. The man knows nothing about construction-how can he be a building inspector? oh yeah, he donated to Harls treasure chest! Maybe i should as well, just hope i get a job like our chief/building inspector has!
You mean the full-time fire engineers scheduled at the stations 24/7. I believe there are 4 of them 11:51. These four can also be volunteer fireman paid per call they go on when not on shift duty at the station. This also supplements their income.
@1:57 You need to read the union contract with these full time guys or talk to someone down there . They only get paid for so many calls when not on duty . Or they can only get paid for like one call in a 4 or 6 hour period . That's how much they make on salary . And that's why certain fulltime guys who kissed butt to be an officer (R.A.) refuse to come to calls off duty . I've also been told he only comes to calls when the chief is out of town so he can act like he's in charge , but then the real workers don't show up because no one can stand him . They also get paid for meetings because of their union contract even though the part time guys don't. And for that they deserve a pension? I'd rather see it go to those who show up and contribute not to those who act like they are entitled to it because they were in a union.
The full time fire engineers are paid way too much. And so is the newly appointed fire chief. Do any have college degrees in fire science? Is it true for most of their shift all they do is watch tv, play on computer? If a fire truck needs cleaned, they do that I've been told.
They don't clean fire trucks , they have a college kid work all summer cleaning trucks and washing windows . My friend worked their 2 summers ago and said it was the easiest job he ever had . The engineer did nothing all day but sit in air conditioning.
R.A. doesn't even have the proper training to be an engineer . He refused to take the State Fire Marshall class to get his training required . And the city won't make him take it . I guess when you get your job by suing the city you get to do whatever you want . I know this because I used to be on the department. But I like many others left because of people's overgrown ego's and uneducated minds .
That $750,000 truck just sits there every day. Why isnt it being used ? Seems like a waste . Theyve had it for like 4 months now . Good investment Peru !
WWGD , exactly ! He kept everyone in their place and doing their job . There was no bullying or kiss butting going on . There was no need for kids working (haha) during the summer. The fulltime guys did what they were supposed to do , and not the chiefs work . The officers were guys that the fireman respected , not guys that intimidated , and harassed the fireman . Guys lost there jobs because they wouldn't work , not because they didn't drink with the gang or kiss their butts . And if you didn't show up you were gone . I like others left when we switched chiefs because it became a free for all down there .
I hope the feds turn over info to the IRS on liberty . If the IRS investigated liberty it will fall. Hopefully past members are talking and sharing info . Liberty pissed off a lot of people and there is a lot of revenge occurring in Peru now and in the next few months . paybacks suck !
What does Liberty do with all the donation money? Nothing was put towards the $750,000 truck? Been told the appointed chief does not have qualifications with fire science degree to deserve $84,000 a year. Someone please explain how this happened? Summer help at the fire department . I head that a full-time fire engineers son got a summer job a couple years ago supposedly cleaning trucks. Who hired him? The fire chief? Wonder if other youths were ever promised a summer job at fd? Donations paid for this? Wrong! Plain and simple. Did the fd take applications? FBI SHOULD INVESTIGATE Liberty. Hopefully a person with information will contact the FBI.
In the past 6-7 years who has been on the board for Liberty? What accountability do they have? When a club/organization uses a city department such as the fire department to raise money, the public has every right to know what has and is going on in that club/organization. Aren't some City employees members of Liberty?
All the questions above are very well stated. Once upon a time wasn't Alderman Perez a member of Liberty? Why the hush hush? Something just seems off-kilter.
There's a lot of people in this town that were members of liberty . some have spoke and no one believed them. The best place to start is the city. Hr should know what is going on.
Liberty has nothing to do with the city so we've been told on here. What's alarming however is Liberty does fundraising for the city's fire department. Isn't that a conflict of interest? The new fire truck purchased by the city. Why didn't anybody question the donation money from Liberty? Where all of it goes. People need to wake up. Why would a person bring something up if there weren't some truth in it?
Wait until they send out their letter for donations this year and it says your donations went to pay for the new truck . like a few years ago when they said your donations went to something on the new water truck but it was proved someone bought it with their own money and donated it to the fire Dept. Liberty is a big scam .

Oh, peru fd, how convenient is it that people do work at 1 pm. And will be unable to attend. What have and are they hiding?
Same as the 10 am meetings that Waldorf and Lukosis have . they don't want people to attend . plain and simple.
Similarly the Finance Committee is now meeting at 1:00 a time that many cannot attend (and that includes some of the aldermen)..
