Peru Pool Committee Being Formed

Some members of the Peru group have been to the pool at Morris which was built by Chamlin and the city used TIF money to build as it is located in a tif district. The Public Property has put Chamlin on the Peru Pool committee. I cannot forget Roger Chamlin saying at a meeting during the discussion to close the new pool,
"We don't do pools". Where this is going, I don't know.

Mayor Harl, A Liar again ?
Remember folks when Harl dragged a chain across the floor of the old Peru Pool and indicated the hollowness sound meant that the floor could collapse sometime in the future.
Well, Ask Pohar who has recently had to remove the entire pool and he would tell you that the thickness of the pool floor was approx 3 feet thick concrete. He needed VERY LARGE machines and equipment to remove the remenants of the pool concrete.

Wow , the Peru citizens "were again sold a bill of goods that was nothing but a very BIG LIE". How much did that lie cost the city(All of US)? answer $50,000 including overrun dollars.
Another past benefit voting for Mayor Harl, Thanks folks !

Mayor Harl initiated the pool discussion and tried to show why but you need to remember that we paid over $15,000 for a pool engineering firm to compile a report on the pool which is accompanied with multiple pictures showing the damage and decay of the structure. After this the insurance company said they would no longer provide us insurance for the pool and the state found problems and one of which was a drain issue in the deep water and other accessibility issues. Go back and research this, Mayor Harl got the ball rolling but the others prevented that pool from ever opening again.

HARL LIED about everything right from the start. His game was ALL about UNION. They thought Peru had oodles of money and got FOOLED. Now with the election right around the corner he's talking NEW POOL. What a politician!! How dumb does this guy think we are?

If there are legal questions such as if the swimming pool could be safely used for a longer period of time before it was shut down and it was determined by a professional firm at the cost of $15,000 that it was unsafe and this created the legal basis that the pool could no longer be used what liability does this firm have to the city? Peru has had the same city attorney for thirty five years what is his legal opinion in regards to the pool being demolished because of a professional pool experts opinion.
Everyone at the city council meeting in which Chamlin snarled "We don't do pools" at the owner of this blog won't forget the expression on his face when saying this. Many times worse than a snarl.
Where is this going. It sounds as if Peru is going to get a committment from Harl to build a pool if given another term and Chamlin Consulting Engineers (although the owner said that they don't do pools) will definetly be the engineering firm handling it and the Treasurer will
miraculously find enough finances to get it started. The person who knew the most of the entire situation is retired Alderman Jack O'Berine, sadly the person who received the least respect was this same alderman who was on the Street and Water Committee and a alderman for over 24 years. Hope you are enjoying your retirement Alderman.

Was it legal to utilize TIF funds to build a new swimming pool structure? Does that fit into the TIF requirements? Who is Morris' engineer?

Who is involved in the pool committee? What are their names? Are they ALL from Peru?

I don't think anyone knows who will be on the committee The ones I know are Ald. Mayszak and Mike Perry from Chamlin. If someone reading this is on the committee, please write in and let us know.
