Crib bumper bills bump heads in General Assembly
in case you wondered, this is what you representatives are in a heated discussion about in Springfield. Just what Illinois needs another restriction. People will just order online or at a bordering state, please let people make their own personal decisions. Will they have to hire inspectors to come into the home of the child?

What does this have to do with Peru and other city governments on the blog ?????
5:49, it has to do with Peru because our local politicians are no different than the ones we send to Springfield.
8:12, statements like that are very sad, you ever think with your attitude that you are part of the problem
nope 9:41. I'm the solution. The only way government will change will be to fire our politicians when they don't do what we want them to.
It sounds as if the "Administration Committee" is holding "interviews". At least that is what is in the agenda. Doe this mean they have made a decision and are interviewing applicants?
10.56, tell me how has that been working for you, your philosophy hasn't been bought into by the citizens has it
3:20, it is getting better. I'll let you know in November 2016. The US Senate has been saved, now it is on to the executive branch. The Governor's mansion has been taken. Take a close look at the our local state rep's last election. If it was LaSalle County only, he would have been soundly defeated. Next election he will be out.
So, all in all it is getting better. Just need to weed out those pesky know nothing Aldermen and the Mayor that is controlled by "outside" forces.
The bill about banning crib bumpers is comparable to the law requiring car seats and boosters for children in cars. The crib bumper ban will reduce SIDS. Statistics show that having blankets, pillows and bumpers in a crib raise the chances of SIDS occurring by a significant amount. There should be regulations about the safety of products sold to consumers especially if they involve the safety of children. That is why toys aren't sold if they are painted with lead paint.
I am glad to see these regulations are being considered.
To 1:04 PM. The answer to your question is no. The Task Force is in the process of going through the motions of conducting "interviews" of current city officials who are singing the praises of the current power structure and telling the Task Force about the absolutely tremendous job they are doing running the city. There will be no "interviews" or testimony by anyone with any opinion regarding anything other than the fabulous the city has done creating the mongrel government structure.
The Task Force has one task and one task only. That is to put their pre-determined Rubber Stamp of approval by recommending that we hire the police chief to run the entire city and to pretend that he is qualified to do so.
With a substantial pay increase of course. If the political antics of Harl and his minions were not so obvious and predictable it would really be funny. Instead it's just disgusting to watch the shenanigans of a bunch of self-important politicians taking care of themselves and each other.
Let me be clear that I believe most of the Task Force members have honorable intentions to do a proper and honest job. But they are hamstrung by the restrictive wording in the phony resolution that limits the
questions they are charged with answering. They are being duped by Harl into making the only recommendation that the resolution allows them to make. The Task Force members should realize what is happening but I'm not sure they all do. Peru politics at its finest folks. Eeeeww! Sorry, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. It's just the side-effect
it has on those of us that know what these phony Peru officials are up to. All you have to do is pay attention. Yea, that's gonna happen right?
I know! Lets have a concert! That will keep the people distracted.
