I was persuaded by our daughter to sign up on Facebook and for months I did not and finally relented and did. It is great for instant communication and fun to connect with many friends near and far and other family. Just like many internet sites I have set my security up and always make sure the url is https and not http just as if you were logging in to pay your bills online or purchase something.
Professionals have been fired for using this social media site and sometimes it ends up in a lawsuit with damages being awarded. The story I posted is only one example.

Does your employer have the right to prevent you from using this social media site when you are not on the job? This is a new area and it may take time to iron out all the bugs. Can it be written into your contract of employment? Any legal beagles out there?

I think this will be challenged in the city of Peru , from what I hear is going on in the Fire Department .

We appear to have questions and problems regarding PVAS, our city council, and now possibly our fire department? These are vital functions in our community. Why can't we work as one for the betterment of Peru instead of individuals fighting each other?
