Price of Gas Will Be Going Up in Peru?

Gasoline is considered general merchandise, will we be paying more for gasoline if the Mayor gets his sales tax increase?

Here's a thought that someone presented to me: Suppose there's a decent crown attending the open forum tonite. Suppose you took a straw vote and the majority of them voted against the sales tax increase. Then, suppose the majority of those who respond to the proposed city survey vote no - WILL THE MAYOR STILL PUSH FOR THE INCREASE AND ASK FOR A COUNCIL VOTE? If so, why bother with the preliminary set up other than to try and pursuade some votes? Food for thought!

Persuading people started at 6:10 AM on WLPO and then onto the Rotary and ending tonight with the town forum. Will it work? I believe most already have their mind made up.

Peru presently has a 1/2% retail sales tax for Parkside Grade School and now the city administrators want to raise the retail sales tax another 1/2% for roads. What would the results of this be if the local economy keeps its negative trend? There are some things that have been so successful that you just don't fool with!

Where is the separate posting for discussing the increase in sale tax ?

Looks like we can have a people vote to decide on an increase of taxes for the Parkside Grade School BUT NO NEED TO VOTE FOR A INCREASE OF TAX FOR ROADS BECAUSE OUR MAYOR HARL IS GOD AND SEE's FIT THAT A VOTE IS NOT NECESSARY ONLY A COUNCIL VOTE. (He now stacked the council)

HOME RULE was respected by Mayor Baker and he had a vote by the citizens to determine their fate for the Parkside school.

When did the city change from a democracy to a KING ?
