I'm glad I don't depend upon the Peru web site calendar for my information as they are showing the Opening Day at the Peru Swimming Pool as May 22. And no City Council meeting shown for May 10, the day Williams Aquatics is scheduled to make their presentation.
Who in the world is responsible for all this misinformation?

Lois, please find out who is responsible for keeping the calendar up to date.
There are no meetings listed for the week of the 10th and the week of the 24th. Have we cut the number of meetings per month to two? Also,Heidi Heuser's name is listed at the bottom of the web site. Wouldn't that make her the responsible party?
I wonder why some committee meetings are on the calendar and others like the water and sewer and the new design and review meetings have to be searched for by looking under agendas. It seems to me that they deserve a more prominent place on the calendar so if a resident is interested they don't have to play hide and seek searching for them.
They don't want the public to attend.
Speaking of the Design and Review Committee that was newly established by Mayor Harl. Very interesting minutes about businesses in Peru who want to build, move or expand.
Does anyone know if they are revamping the Peru web site? Went to check the agenda for tomorrow's meeting (which had been previously posted) and saw that it was revised. Tried to check the revisions but got a "Sorry" stating the page was unavailable. Does anyone know what's going on?
How are we supposed to learn what's going on at city hall and at our meetings if we can't even get an agenda off our own web site?
Lois, please tell us what is so interesting concerning this committee.
Calendar has been corrected, the swimming pool date has been removed and the council meeting for next Monday added.
Now to the Design and Review Committee
I found it interesting as it was about local businesses already located in town. Also the fact that Peru is in need of new business into our community and the fact that there seemed to be so much stress placed on shrubs and trees. I agree that a nice frontage appearance does add to the aesthetic look of a business but this meeting was about small businesses that many people do not even patronize as they have no need of the items they offer. Lets not deter expansion and remodeling with undue emphasis on landscaping.
The calendar may have been corrected but the minutes to the meeting are still unavailable. I'm sure someone on the city's payroll is responsible for this web site. If so, they're neglecting their job lately.
I'm having a real problem trying to understand why the agenda for Wednesday's meeting is not on the web site! Isn't it supposed to be posted a certain amount of time before the actual meeting? I seem to remember reading about a meeting being cancelled a while back because the agenda was not posted in time.
I have just been reading through the Illinois Open Meetings act and according to the law, the city only needs to post at the place where the meeting will take place and that needs to be done 48 hours in advance of the meeting. So if we want to see the agenda it will be necessary to go to the Municipal building and check their bulletin board inside the front door. They are not required by law to put online.
But if they are concerned with opening up government to those who are unable to visit City Hall to check on meetings, the city would see that it was placed on line.
(a) Every public body shall give public notice of the
schedule of regular meetings at the beginning of each calendar
or fiscal year and shall state the regular dates, times, and
places of such meetings. An agenda for each regular meeting
shall be posted at the principal office of the public body and
at the location where the meeting is to be held at least 48
hours in advance of the holding of the meeting. A public body
that has a website that the full-time staff of the public body
maintains shall also post on its website the agenda of any
regular meetings of the governing body of that public body. Any
agenda of a regular meeting that is posted on a public body's
website shall remain posted on the website until the regular
meeting is concluded.
