You can bet your bippy that our friend Frank will be taking that pension... And another one when he's done with his next job "overseeing" state finances

Old Boss Harl will be taking it too. In just a few short weeks he will be replacing Frankie. With the Unions and Madigan backing him, the Boss will be going to Springfield for at least 20 years.

I agree that full-time employees and certain elected state officials should be eligible for pension benefits. But the fact that city officials like Peru's mayor, clerk, treasurer, and even aldermen are eligible to collect pension benefits is something that has always made me sick to my stomach. Aldermen and other small town elected officials are "NOT" full-time positions and taxpayers should "NOT" be forced to contribute tax dollars toward a frickin' pension benefit for these mopes. That goes for township elected officials also. When I think of the absolutely useless cast of characters (past and present) from the city of Peru and Peru Township who are currently sucking pension benefits or those who will eventually be sucking pension benefits I am just sickened. It's bad enough to even have to pay these people a salary but to give them a pension is insanity. Just two examples of the toal injustice of the system is revealed with the realization that the likes former aldermen like Jack O'Beirne and Bob Ankiewicz are actually sucking a pension from the taxpayers of the state of Illinois. It's just such an insult to humanity to see the type of people that suck from the taxpayer trough. On the township level you have the likes of Joe Hogan, Joe Ocepinski, and Bob Vickrey who are either actively feeding on a taxpayer pension or will be in the near future. I remember how Joe Hogan pulled the old salary increase trick for himself before he retired as township supervisor in order to pad his pension. It's all just disgusting. Now we taxpayers will be paying pensions to the likes of Harl, Ferrari, Waldorf, Lukosus, Mueller, Bartley, Sapienza, etc............Eewww! Sorry, I just threw up on the keyboard. Gotta go.

Why shouldn't Aldermen get a pension? And Bobby V. spent a lot of time in various government jobs to get one. If there was no pension or health insurance, why would anyone want the job? Nobody would run for important local offices like Peru Township Supervisor, Peru Township Highway Commissioner, and Peru Township Clerk if it was not for the pension and benefits. We would be forced to shut these vital governments down if nobody ran. Wait a minute......

To 1:03 pm, People should want the job to "serve the people" not themselves. We taxpayers should be immensely grateful to the honest and ethical elected officials who have opted to not participate in the pension program for they are the office holders with true integrity. Does anybody know if we have any local elected officials who have have refused to accept pension benefits? That would be an indicator of an honest and unselfish public official.

While I believe the Peru Twp is a waste of money and has been a money pit for many many years, I will not be posting the names you (anon) have selected for ridicule. Peru Twp is not a branch of Peru Municipal government. Those presently serving are fulfilling elected positions and while I would like to see the twp. disbanded, name calling of those officials will prove nothing.

Lois, thank you for your judgement. To disallow some who believe that this blog is only a tool to ridicule others has to learn that your intention is not such. I also agree that name calling in any situation proves nothing. I, as I am assured you also are not looking for a individual to blame but are paying attention to those who are making a attempt to locate and solve the problem.

Thank you Lois for posting that. I'm happy to see that you have "another point of view."

I don't know who YOU are and I don't know who wrote the blog. I also didn't give a time of the blog I was referring to so how do you know how many I did not post today? and how do you know I was referencing yours.

Clue: It was more than one.

Regarding my post of 3:25, I think my term of name calling was inappropriate as it was more of wanting names posted of those who they felt were not doing their money's worth on the twp. board. Again since names were mentioned in his blog post, I will not repeat or put them on the blog.

Very funny to see how quickly certain individuals are "flushed out of the weeds" with rants about Peru Township. They are still livid about the sound thrashing they took in the last township election. So, so angry. Too bad.

Suprises are coming to the township Stay tuned

8:56 The only change has been the names in the Township. Peru residents elected newbies and we got the same old cash the paycheck ideology.

3:13 The only surprise is how fast they cash the paychecks.

Ottawa Times did a story on how much aid the Ottawa Township gave to those in need. The last news article locally was how highly paid our Township officials are. The only ones that can change that is those that are elected, don't hold your breath! You can't change the election process as it stands its a party format. Your elected by your party bosses. A few have been elected as Independents but they quickly went along with the game plan. Collect the check for the hour a month meeting and don't spend any money for the sole purpose of aiding in the benefit of those who need the help.

The townships around here are nothing more than a way for connected individuals to legally SCAM money from their neighbors to supplement their income. As far as I'm concerned, I would not trust a single person associated with the township system.

Now lets talk about charity. They keep saying that they provide charity. Bull hockey! They take money from working people, keep most of it for themselves, and then give a tiny bit to a very small number of people. They only give money to people that do not qualify for any other form of government support. There are not many people in legitimate need that fit that description. So Township Charity is nothing more than an excuse to rip off honest taxpayers! If I haven't made myself clear - for every $100 they steel from us, they give $1 to a person that is not qualified by any other government agency to receive aid.

Absolutely disgusting. Should be in jail

12:56 what are you talking about?

Anonymous said...

12:25 were still looking for that first dollar in aid. Officials salaries don't count as aid to the needy.
