Is the property for the Pot Farm in a TIF district?

Did somebody remember to call the railroad this time? Its only a matter of time before somebody gets hit by the train that comes through during the fireworks.

I think the river will still be out of its banks. So what happens now?

The railroads will be giving 30 minutes notice and travel at 10mph if they are coming at all....the fireworks will go from the landfill if need be..and the growing center is not in the TIF.

Thanks. There is a map on the city web site but it is upside down and would not print correctly. Can't believe this has not been corrected. If you want a map tell city hall to print one out for you.

It is predicted that the Illinois River will be a flood stage until Sunday.

Should we expect a postponement of the fireworks until Sunday?

It appears Glass Specialty has closed up shop in town. That hasn't been reported in the paper has it ?

Lois, you along with your upside down city map have your priorities out of order. On the 3rd of July fireworks are the cities #1 priority and always will be. Yes you can expect a postponement until Sunday but it will be of the flood not the fireworks.

why only 30 minutes notice? Is it a secret? I would imagine that if you call the railroad a month or two ahead of time, they could arrange the schedule and make sure a train does not come through at all.

Postpone until Sunday? Hope nobody has 4th of July vacation plans out of town. Might put a damper on things.

unless it rains quite a bit more, I don't think the flooding will be that bad. Just puff a little harder with Mary Jane, lean on the bench in the beer tent and you will hardly notice the water. :)

THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE ILLINOIS RIVER AT LA SALLE. * UNTIL SUNDAY EVENING. * AT 1045 AM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 20.8 FEET. * FLOOD STAGE IS 20.0 FEET. * MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST. * FORECAST... THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 23.8 FEET BY WEDNESDAY EVENING. THE RIVER WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

I remain fascinated by the Kristy blog, but I guess no one else here is following it? Perhaps it is Kristy fatigue? Anyway, the flurry of activity on it today seems to point out the FAA bending over backwards to say that the concerts are meeting the stipulation of a reasonable profit to the airport. The amounts seems false, they also seem incredibly small based on any market comaprison (2300 on a $750,000 event). And she still has not uncovered or discussed the one actionable item that the FBI could not ignore, FAA grant compliance or not. The alleged forgiveness of 24,000 in debt that has been discussed ad nauseum here.

Harl approved, council approved, it does not matter. If you forgive a debt, and also claim its payment as part of revenue, its like sliding money right under a table, only in plain sight.
Forgiven debt IS revenue. Free city services, volunteer or not, are payments. Hours of Safety planning unbilled and unreimbursed, are payments. Donations to the promoter by the sponsor are payments, revenues.

When will Peoria street be open?
Will shooting park road be done before it snows?
Are any other roads going be done. It's time to put out road bids in to the city get a contractor that can get the job done in a week or tow not a year or two

We should use a contractor from outside the Illinois Valley area. To much union influence here. For the price we are paying, we could hire a non-union shop to work 24 /7 until it is complete.
We need to Fight for the Right-to-Work in Illinois in 2015!

7:47 It would be a fascinating report if it was accurate. Funny how she failed to admit the city receives parking revenues in addition to the ticket tax. This was not noted in any of complaints. If you expect any enforcement of any so-called violations, its important to have all the facts. Please!

2:05 p.m. The city only started receiving parking revenues at last year's concerts, so what Kristy reports is correct because she's talking about prior years. I really think you are the one who needs to check facts.

205 Parking receipts started after, and I would not be surprised if it all happened becuase of kristy. Remember, before she started to bring up the fact that the city was just giving away a venue, there was no ordinance, no money, not even reimbursement. I really would like to see her publish the whole ordinance, first and second version. The second version, raising the parking from 50 cents to a dollar was also due to her complaints.
If it wasnt for her raisng a stink, these charity events would still be ripping you all off even worse than they do.
Get all the facts yourself clown.

Wonder if any city has a mascot called, "Dumbo."
