Lois thank you for posting these pictures. On June 2 I left the Superintendent a message about a possible road situation. I spoke with him at the meeting the following week and was told it was not an issue but they would keep an eye on it (bottom left picture) Last night I was riding and snapped the other two pictures that are obvious there IS a situation. I spoke with Chamlin after the meeting and they stated it is a safety concern and would review the situation today and have a barricade in place. Same thing occurred across from well #5 down on water street and the police put a barricade in place for me. The Super was not aware of the situation even though the secretary verified the police printout..
Now I asked once again who is going to take the responsibility when something tragic occurs due to lack of management? Now Mr. Bleck is a nice man but sometimes nice does not get the job done. The City has million dollar projects occurring throughout town and it is imperative they are all reviewed by the proper individuals for accuracy and accountability. How can the City request a sales tax increase for infrastructure repair when they can not manage the current structure efficiently?
You mean like the wall cave-in today when a city employee was repairing a leak? NO MANAGEMENT...be lucky this will only be a workman's comp problem instead of a death.
8:59 PM After years of neglect and not following the rules, the city has decided to purchase an aluminum trench box for the workers. Long overdue and lucky no one was seriously hurt years ago. You are telling us that there was a wall cave in today?
SPW announced at a finance mtg, that he was ordering a trench box from a company in Michigan. I believe the CC ok'd it. If they had one, I never saw it in use.
I know this is not the right place for this complaint, but, its the only place for right now.I see the park is ready for the big tournament, and the rest of the city is a mess. Even the cemetery. Its a disgrace... Went through there yesterday, and absolutely no one working. Saw one kid come out of the back of, the what would be behind the ball field, texting and driving through the cemetery going west on shooting park. I don't think those kids need phones while at work. Just a thought.
I Think you should ask city council members before you assume they are relutant to help or take care of problems. Ask them why they vote on a topic or finances. Most I have contacted were very informative and knowledgeable. They have emails. Its easy to give out a make believe story that personally attacks a council member, we all like funny. But give them some lines, it may be good humor.

I believe the City already has a trench box-atleast they use to have one! I also heard about the cave in but don't know the extent of injury.
Recall safety equipment is only as good as managements commitment to the safety program.
