Peru Swimming Pool Concession

Not sure how old this concession stand is, maybe about 25 years old or could be older but how many of us have seen the inside before. My guess would be only those who work there
Here is a case where it is only because we are spending money for an outside firm to investigate everything associated with the pool that we are getting this kind of "look at" what the actual condition is. I don't believe anyone every brought up the condition of this building but now we are getting a peek at something we weren't even interested in, the unknown "health issue" right in front of our noses.

In the long run, it appears that this might be the best money the city has spent in a long time.

Lois, does anyone know if that building has been inspected by the Public Health inspector in the last few years, and if it has where are the reports?

Are the concessions at the pool still put out for contract or is the city in control of the food and the building/

11:48AM and 11:50AM

Those are 2 very good questions that we need to find answers to.

If it has been inspected by the LaSalle County Health Dept.and approved it would make me be very concerned about their approval of LaSalle County restaurants in general. I will look for answers on Monday.

When the city ran the Snack Shack, the food was purchased through the city but since they hired a concession stand manager, Linda Kasik, the food has been ordered by her.

I talked to the LaSalle County Health Dept. and I directed the individual in charge of this particular food service to check out the photos to see how the building looks today. As soon as I can I will FOIA the inspection sheets for the last few years.

It appears that someone is currently cleaning out the concession building. Have we heard anything new on the pool or is it just wishful thinking? I also noticed a number of baseballs in the west 3 foot section of the pool. This could very easily be considered a safety hazard for swimmers (much like the tennis courts and little league diamond).
