Pictures pretty much tell their own story.
The people pictured came in a City of Peru van and left soon after we got to the pool.
The black hose "appears" to be draining water from the deepest part of the pool from an open ungrated drain. ???????
Walking around the perimeter of the pool I came across the deteriorating concrete on the walkway, obviously has been neglected for a long time.
Also the concession stand, it looks like the face board around the roof has been neglected and in need of repair and hard to believe it happened in one winter.
My impression is that it all represents the total neglect the city has been experiencing for a number of past years.

Have we heard from Williams Aquatic that it's safe to get ready to open the pool or are we just taking it in our own hands? Do we have the proper permits applied for to open the pool? And have we fixed the code violations that Williams pointed out? Just curious!
From what I have heard the pool is sitting in water, and disintgrating. But all but one alderman, is ready to start patching and painting. They do not care for the safety of the children in Peru. They only fix things involved with softball and baseball.
I want to say to Alderman Wren, I'm glad you have a brain, I wish you were in my ward, cause my alderman doesn't have one.
In regards to your comment ANON 11:24 you are correct when it comes to safety involving baseball and tennis. I think the public should be made aware that there were 8 hard balls in just the shallow end of the pool near the concession stand. There may have been more elsewhere but I didn't look. Isn't thisk a safety hazard for those swimming? Shouldn't we put up a higher fence around the pool to protect our children just as we protected the tennis players?
