How can the aldermen even consider doing anything about the pool. The federal government is going to give any grants, and neither is the state of Illinois. Do they realize, the schools are cutting back many aids and teachers? The mirror building is going down in appraisal. Where in the H--- do they think we can get any money for a pool. That should be the least of our worries. The roads are in the worst shape they have ever been. Consider them, before you make any other stupid decision.
This was all decided some time back by the Recreation Committee and not specifically by Ald. Ferrari. I think maybe about a month ago they had a meeting and decided to see what these companies would offer. Mertel and O'Beirne also sit on this committee plus some residents.(see the list at the bottom of this page"
Lois, You are wrong. I was at the meeting of the Recreation Committee and Alderman Ferrari, Mertel, O'Beirne and other Residents. I also just read the minutes of that meeting posted as the 02/10/10 meeting.
Alderman Ferrari was in charge of that meeting and he "did specifically" decide that a new pool was to be discussed.
Okay, now we can all discuss where this is all heading to and which City Officials are asking for a new pool.
You are probably right but I thought there was a general consensus from the committee as a whole that they would continue to discuss a new pool. I do remember that Jeff Snyder commented that he used to work for one of the architectural pool designers.

Tuesday night Recreation meeting with 4 Pool venders yields no direction the City Officials want to take on the subject.
Still a mystery as to the direction City Officials are taking with the Pool.
I guess time will tell.
