How could our aldermen sit before us week after week and let this happen? I wonder if they even realize it's a reality? Were they left in the dark in the past? A debt this size does not occur overnight. I just don't understand!
I can only say that maybe our previous Mayor convinced them he and the city clerk would do everything and all they had to do was cast the votes for him. Remember he only needed 4 of the aldermen on his side and he could cast the tie breaker. I think perhaps it is very slowly dawning on a few of alderman but not all. After all the economy was good for most people everywhere.
