Well said Chief. This is the first bit of sense I've heard from the township - ever. Now, is there political will to make this happen? OR, will a wall be built up to prevent it. These suggestions will mess with the income of some individuals and they might not like that.

Wow a elected official telling it straight. Good job Mr. Bernabei. Hope more will be like you.

Bernie should talk he is padding his pocket with $300 a month in salary and dont forget 2500 in medical reimbursement Bernie! Oh dont forgot Bernie you supported a pay increase for yourself last cycle. This is sham Bernie you should resign immediately, taking pay for two jobs and now a trustee....Shady Bernie

I thought the open forum letter was a little misleading. Bernabei stated it is all the trustees first elected term, which is true, but he was appointed as trustee before the last election. He should have mentioned his previous time as a trustee and like 8:07 said, he voted to increase salaries 4 years ago. The article makes it as if these last 4 years were his only years and they are not.

8:07 and 9:19 Right!!! Someone has been enjoying that double/triple salary for years. With big benefits!!! If what he is saying is true, why not vote the pay decreases and benefit eliminations on day 1. Just a thought. Must be an election year coming up.

Well, 7:03 The topic would not have come up unless the newspaper covered the discussions at the Peru City council meeting. They had the ability to cover the wage topic day 1 and the next 3 years and just didn't get around to it in the 30 minute once a month meetings. Now behind the story the topic of working on a consolidation is in the forefront? Would you bring up a topic of a wage decrease if you were bilking taxpayers?

What unit of government meets 30 minutes a month and makes $4500 a year and medical benefits?

What unit of government supervisor makes $42,000 a year and benefits ?

What unit of government, business, hobby, planet makes $26,000 and benefits for taking notes once a month for 30 minutes? Township Clerk.

Who has a no show job for $42,000 a year and benefits working as a road commissioner? And you hire someone for another $40,000 for less than 6 miles of roadways. Please fill in the title ROAD COMMISSIONER.

Article in the open forum? Little late. Meeting at the township? Theatre at it's best.

Theatre at it's best is about perfect 1:37. Got to make it look like we are really doing something to earn those amazing salaries, health insurance, and LIFETIME pensions for 2 hours of work a month.

407 your Buddy the Chief voted in favor of those high salaries. It took him three years to think of a plan to smoke screen what he really done.
