Take a look at the agenda for the public works committee meeting this Monday. If they are going to discuss anything of importance to the city and its' citizens you'd never know it. Their agenda tells us nothing. It's almost as though they don't want people attending their meetings and learning what's going on in our city. Why else would the agenda be so vague?
6:58 you could possibly be correct but this has been going on for some time. We all have to agree that there are a lot of projects going on this summer so I would find it difficult to believe that there isn't something to discuss. If not, why have a meeting? After all it's only a committee meeting.
If you want to know what is going on in Peru, please read the meeting minutes. They do a very good job of posting those on the web site. If you have input or direct questions go to the meetings. There are several times during the meeting in which you can bring up your complaints, if you want the publicity. If you want to solve a problem call city hall or call your elected official. To require a vote and action taken, items must be placed on the agenda. Peru have many meetings and many of those involved do their homework prior to votes.
Agendas have to be posted in advance. There are a lot of laws about government meetings, which is probably why there are fewer. Updates about construction projects are given at these meetings but there are also meetings held with the contractors about specific projects on a regular basis. My husband is a contractor and said the things discussed have nothing to do with the public and are specifically about the details of the work and progress updates.

I'm just asking, but is it possible with summer vacations and other reasons, maybe there really isn't anything to discuss of major importance?
