I spent 4 years in Pontiac and don't want to go back. Tourism wasn't what got me there. If you go to Pontiac it isn't for the trolley ride it's usually in shackles! Nobody has ever went to Pontiac because they want to.
12:15, I hope you took used that 4 years in Pontiac productively and decided against repeating whatever it was you did to be put there.
Maybe once Boss Harl goes to Springfield, he can get another maximum security prison built for Illinois. God knows with all the grand thuggary going on in Chicago, we need one. Maybe the Illinois Valley would be a good place to incarcerate the criminals from Cook County. We would be close enough for people from Chicago to visit their friends and relatives and bring in sales tax and hotel motel tax. It would be good for Peru to have a prison built here.
As far as I am concerned any town that can productively promote their city with the interesting things the city has or the festivals or events within their city is smart business.
I have been in the Flanagan Pontiac area many times and both are nice small towns in their vicinty. Putting up the history of a city with the murals is great. They don't need to be huge and would be an effective way to draw interest to Peru. Let's put it this way, it is better than anything we have tried so far.
