“It doesn’t take a majority to win, just a tireless minority that will keep starting brush fires in the mind and hearts of their fellow men.” Samuel Adams
It was suggested I read this article and it does seem like Princeton might be working a bit more closely with their residents in working for ways to lower their electric bills. For example holding open forums to explain the situation regarding the purchase of electricity from IMEA and also helping residents reduce their electric cost through education and helping to find out what appliances might be using the most electricity. There was a mention of a "smart meter" program which is something I would like to know more about.
Princeton is taking a pro-active approach in response to the inevitable rate increases they have or will pass on to their customers. They have launched a public relations campaign complete with open forum discussions and citizen participation in power conservation programs. It's just smart government. Princeton leaders are facing the problem head-on and providing the public with the facts of the matter in advance of any public backlash or revolt. Peru should pay attention to what Princeton is doing about this issue and some other issues as well. There is no shame in adopting "smart policy" from a successful neighbor. Is anybody paying attention? I guess we'll soon see.
